Block-based methods for the reconstruction of finite-length signals from nonuniform samples
Tuncer, Temel Engin (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), 2007-02-01)
Two novel block-based algorithms are presented for the reconstruction of uniform samples given the nonuniform samples. The first algorithm uses a sinc interpolator whereas the second one uses a DFT-based interpolator. It is shown that the proposed algorithms are stable and the error due to noise and sampling jitter is bounded by the corresponding error norms of noise and jitter, respectively. We show that both of the block-based algorithms provide nearly perfect reconstruction for a class of practically tim...
Block-Based Spatial Prediction and Transforms Based on 2D Markov Processes for Image and Video Compression
Kamışlı, Fatih (2015-04-01)
Conventional intraframe coding is performed in two steps. First, a block of pixels are predicted by copying previously reconstructed neighbor pixels of the block along an angular direction inside the block. Then, the prediction residual block is transform coded with the well-known 2D discrete cosine transform (DCT). Recently, it has been shown that transforming the intraprediction residuals with the odd type-3 discrete sine transform along the prediction direction and the DCT along the perpendicular directi...
Block Transmissions on Orthogonal Carriers
Yazici, Ayhan; Baykal, Buyurman (2006-09-28)
Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) and Single Carrier Block Transmissions (SCBT) are located at the two opposite edges of block transmission concept. In this paper a system which lies between OFDM and SCBT is proposed. The new system, namely Block Transmissions on Orthogonal Carriers (BTOC), can be considered as a hybrid form of OFDM and SCBT. BTOC system is investigated under the redundant filterbank precoders and equalizers framework. Peak-to-average power ratio (PAPR) of BTOC is formulated...

Rectangular waveguide mode converters for creating monopulse radiation patterns
Duman, Onurhan; Dural Ünver, Mevlüde Gülbin; Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering (2018)
For waveguide structures, there is an alternative way of creating three monopulse radiation patterns by using mode converters and radiating different waveguide modes (not only TE10 mode) for creating different monopulse radiation patterns. In the literature, different radiating modes are offered depending on waveguide shape. For rectangular waveguide, one suggestion is to radiate TE10 mode for the creation of sum channel radiation pattern, to radiate TE20 mode for the creation of azimuth difference radiatio...
