The purpose of this study is to reveal similarities and differences of Turkey and Switzerland's 8th grade social studies curriculum in terms ofcontent, objectives, measurement and evaluation. The survey model was used in the study. A horizontal approach was adopted fromcomparative education approaches and a document analysis was conducted in the study. According to the findings of the research; Socialstudies in Turkey and Switzerland, this course was conducted with the name of Social sciences up to 8th grade. In Turkey; while History of theRevolution and Ataturkism course were taught; in Switzerland history and geography lessons were taught. When the subjects of history lessonsin Switzerland are investigated, the histories of the other developed countries, especially America, France and England, and their effects on theworld are examined in detail. In our country 8th grade History of Revolution and Ataturkism class, our national history is transferred to thestudents. Turkey's social studies class is taught from the 4th until 7th Grade Social Studies under the name. This course is taught in the scopeof the Revolution History and Ataturkism teaching curriculum. When the social sciences course of Switzerland is examined, it is seen that thecourse has been started to be taught since the main class but it has been handled superficially and as 8th and 9th grade it has been givenunder two different disciplines as history and geography under the name of social studies.
