Bıoethanol Productıon By Usıng Hazelnut Byproducts
Çekmecelioğlu, Deniz(2012-12-31)
Aim:Hazelnut by-products can be one of the most important types of biomass, as it is an abundant, important agricultural and commercial material in Turkey. At present, two-thirds of the world production capacity of hazelnuts is provided by Turkey, with around 250 thousand tons of hazelnut shells per year produced in the Black- Sea region of Turkey alone. Proximate analysis indicates that hazelnut shells have 43.1% lignin, 27.5% hemicellulose, 24.7% cellulose, 3.4% alcohol-benzene extractives and 1.4% ash wh...
D2D Multi-hop relaying Services Towards Disaster Communication System
Ali, Kamran; Nguyen, Huan X.; Shah, Purav; Quoc-Tuan Vien, Quoc-Tuan Vien; Ever, Enver (2017-05-05)
Recent events of multiple earthquakes in Nepal, Italy and New Zealand resulting loss of life and resources bring our attention to the ever growing significance of disaster management, especially in the context of large scale nature disasters such as earthquake and Tsunami. In this paper, we focus on how disaster communication system can benefit from recent advances in wireless communication technologies especially mobile technologies and devices. The paper provides an overview of how the new generation of t...
Kınetic analysis of glucose-6-phosphate branch point in saccharomyces cerevisiae
Alagöz, Eda; Hamamcı, Haluk; Department of Biotechnology (2005)
Glycolysis is the main metabolic route in Saccharomyces cerevisiae and it is the sequence of enzyme catalyzed reactions that oxidatively convert glucose to pyruvic acid in the yeast cytoplasm. In addition to the basic steps, glycolysis involves branch points providing the intermediary building blocks of the cell (i.e amino acids and nucleotides). One of these pathways is glucose-6-phosphate branch point which is a junction of glycolytic pathway and pentose phosphate pathway. At this point glucose-6-phosphat...
