Monthly changes in the composition and abundance of meroplankton and pelagic polychaetes of the Cilician basin shelf waters (eastern Mediterranean)
Uysal, Zahit (2005-01-01)
Taxonomic composition of the meroplankton and the pelagic polychaetes of the Cilician basin shelf waters was investigated for the first time. Analysis of monthly net samples shows that the meroplankton and the pelagic polychaetes of the region are represented under 5 phyla, 10 classes, and 34 families. Pelagic nectochaete larvae of the family Spionidae (Polychaeta) and zoeas of family Grapsidae (Decapoda) were the dominating groups throughout the year. Typical stenohaline taxa formed by classes of Enteropne...
Monthly changes in the abundance and biomass of picoplankton (heterotrophic bacteria & cyanobacteria Synechococcus) in the Cilician Basin (Eastern Mediterranean)
Bayındırlı, Cansu; Uysal, Zahit; Department of Marine Biology and Fisheries (2007)
Within the content of this thesis, it was aimed to understand the changes in the biomass and abundance of heterotrophic bacteria and marine cyanobacteria Synechococcus in time with respect to multitude of ambient physical, chemical and biological factors. For this, monthly samples from discrete depths in the offshore (0-20-40-60-80-100-125-150-175-200 m) and in the near shore (surface and 10 m) stations over a period of one year in the Cilician Basin (eastern Mediterranean) were collected via rosette sample...
Weekly changes in phytoplankton species composition diversity abundance and biomass across the northern Levantine basin shelf waters

Annual variations in biochemical composition of size fractionated particulate matter and zooplankton abundance and biomass in Mersin Bay, NE Mediterranean Sea
Zenginer Yılmaz, Arife (2010-05-01)
Seasonal changes in biochemical composition of different particle size classes (pico-, nano- and micro-particulate matter) and the zooplankton abundance and biomass were studied in NE Mediterranean between November 2004 and January 2006. Sampling was carried out at monthly intervals from two stations representing coastal and open water characteristics. Dominance of size fractions showed seasonal variations in each biochemical component but on annual average pico size fraction predominated and accounted for ...
