Effect of structural isomerism and polymer end group on the pH-stability of hydrogen-bonded multilayers
Erel Göktepe, İrem; Demirel, A. Levent (2011-09-15)
Association of tannic acid (TA) with structurally isomeric poly(N-isopropylacrylamide) (PNIPAM) and poly(2-isopropyl-2-oxazoline) (PIPOX) has been examined at surfaces to understand the effect of different molecular arrangements in a polymer repeating unit of structural isomers on the construction and pH-stability of hydrogen-bonded multilayers. Films were fabricated using layer-by-layer (LbL) technique through hydrogen-bonding interactions primarily between carbonyl groups of neutral polymers and hydroxyl ...

Effect of processing parameters on humidity sensing behavior of MgAl2O4 spinel ceramics
Cambaz, Zarife Göknur; Timuçin, Muharrem; Department of Metallurgical and Materials Engineering (2003)
An experimental study has been conducted in order to determine the effects of processing parameters on the humidity sensing characteristics of ceramic sensors produced from magnesium aluminate. MgAİ2Û4 powders were synthesized by the mixed oxide technique and by the citrate route in the laboratory. In some experiments, the powders were doped with Na+, Mn2+, or Ti4+ ions in order to modify the sintering and the response behavior of the spinel ceramics. The variations in electrical impedance were determined a...
Effect of TiH2 particle size on foaming of aluminium
Kubilay, Ceylan; Öztürk, Tayfur; Department of Metallurgical and Materials Engineering (2005)
A study is carried out on the production of aluminum foams via powder processing. The study deals mainly with the effect of TiH2 particle size on the process of foaming. Mainly two TiH2 particle sizes were used; namely 27,5 ?m and 8,5 ?m. Foaming experiments were carried out at temperatures between 675oC ا 840oC. The viscosity of the system is adjusted by controlled addition of Al2O3. The study shows that choice of foaming agent size is influential in the foaming process. With the use of fine foaming agent,...
