Direct pyrolysis mass spectrometry analyses of polyamide-6 containing melamine and boron compounds
Isbasar, Ceyda; Bayramli, Erdal; Hacaloğlu, Jale (2013-08-01)
In this work, the thermal degradation characteristics of polyamide 6 (PA6) containing melamine (Me) and a boron-containing additive, borophosphate (BPO4), zinc borate (ZnB) or a boron and silicon-containing oligomer (BSi) are investigated systematically via direct pyrolysis mass spectrometry. In the presence of boron compounds, not only the release of melamine and its degradation products but also thermal characteristics of PA6 are affected significantly and the interactions between melamine and PA6 are enh...
Direct pyrolysis mass spectrometry analysis of fresh and aged PF6--doped polythiophenes
Gozet, Tuba; Hacaloğlu, Jale (2004-12-01)
In this study, pyrolysis mass spectrometry has been applied for the investigation of thermal characteristics of PF6--doped polythiophene (PTh) films. Thermal degradation of PTh showed behaviour identical with BF4--doped polythiophene (BF4--PTh), indicating that the effects of the dopants in question on the thermal characteristics of the PTh are not significant. Besides the oligomer peaks (up to hexamer), peaks indicating decomposition of the thiophene ring have also been detected as in the case of BF4--PTh....

Direct hydrothermal synthesis of palladium-incorporated silicate-structured mesoporous catalysts
Sener, Canan; Doğu, Timur; Dogu, Guelsen (2007-01-01)
Pd-Si-structured novel mesoporous nanocomposite catalytic materials, having quite high Pd/Si ratios, were synthesized by an acidic direct hydrothermal synthesis route. The nanocomposite catalytic materials were then characterized by XRD, XPS, EDS, nitrogen adsorption, and SEM techniques. Unlike MCM-41, the XRD patterns indicated a rather wide d((100)) band at a 2 theta value of about 1.9. The materials, with very high Pd/Si wt ratios between 1.43 and 2.66, were synthesized and had BJH surface area values be...
