Comparison of different methods on the enrichment of Konya Inlice epithermal gold ores

2020-01-01
In this study, firstly, enrichment experiments were carried out on the epithermal gold ore belonging to the Konya-Inlice region containing 2.38 ppm Au-containing oxide type ore and 1.39 ppm Au-containing sulfur ore with using Falcon device as a gravity enrichment method. In these group experiments, the effects of parameters such as centrifugal force, bowl type effect, and a solid ration of feeding were investigated. As the second enrichment method, the conventional flotation technique was applied. In these enrichment experiments, appropriate grain size, flotation time, amount of reagent, and amount of depressant, and pH effect were investigated. The results of these tests showed that while a concentrate assaying 4.79 ppm Au content was obtained with 7 % recovery with Falcon Concentrator, a concentrate with 8.37 ppm Au content with 36.37 % recovery was obtained with flotation tests. Thus, if the middlings were theoretically distributed, the final concentrate recovery increased to 78.10% recovery increases to 78.10%.

Comparison of TOC concentrations by persulphate UV and high temperature catalytic oxidation techniques in the Marmara and Black Seas
Tuğrul, Süleyman (Elsevier BV, 1993-01-01)
Total organic carbon (TOC) concentrations were determined in the Marmara Sea and both oxic and anoxic waters of the Black Sea, using the Shimadzu high-temperature catalytic oxidation technique and the Technicon persulphate-UV oxidation method. The TOC values in the deep waters of the Marmara Sea ranged between 60 and 73 μ MC by the Shimadzu technique and from 40 to 50 μMC by the Technicon method. The TOC values obtained by both methods in the deep anoxic waters of the Black Sea varied between 105 and 130 μM...
Modeling anaerobic dechlorination of polychlorinated biphenyls
Demirtepe, Hale; İmamoğlu, İpek; Department of Environmental Engineering (2012)
This study aims to investigate the fate of polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs) in sediments via using an anaerobic dechlorination model (ADM). PCBs are ubiquitous environmental pollutants, accumulated mostly in aquatic sediments. Significant attention was placed on the anaerobic dechlorination of PCBs since this process leads to the conversion of highly-chlorinated biphenyls to lower chlorinated ones, resulting in less toxic and more biodegradable congeners. An ADM was developed previously for the identificati...
EVALUATION OF LOW GRADE IRON ORE DEPOSIT IN ERZINCAN-TURKEY FOR IRON ORE PELLET CONCENTRATE PRODUCTION
SİVRİKAYA, OSMAN; Arol, Ali İhsan (2012-01-01)
In this study the separation possibility of gangue minerals from a low grade magnetite ore with 45% Fe from an iron ore deposit located near Erzincan-Turkey was investigated. The iron ore deposit consists of mainly magnetite mineral. Hematite is the second iron oxide found in the deposit. The gangue minerals contain mainly SiO2 and Al2O3 impurities. The main object of the research is to investigate the production of a concentrate suitable for iron ore pellet production. The concentrate for pellet production...
Calculation of the Thermodynamic Quantities for Cubic Gauche Nitrogen (cg-N)
Yurtseven, Hasan Hamit; Akay, O. (2022-01-01)
This work aims to investigate the thermodynamic properties of the cubic gauge nitrogen (cg-N) by calculating the relevant thermodynamic quantities as a functions of temperature and pressure. The thermodynamic quantities of volume (V), thermal expansion (alpha p), isothermal compressibility (kappa T), bulk modulus(B), and the heat capacity (Cp) are calculated as a function of temperature at constants pressures (0, 35, 125, 250 GPa) for the cg-N structure. Also, the pressure dependences of V, kappa T, alpha p...
Comparative Pyrolysis and Combustion Kinetics of Oil Shales
Kök, Mustafa Verşan (2000-02-01)
In this research, thermal characteristics and kinetic parameters of eight Turkish oil shale samples were determined by thermogravimetry (TG/DTG) at non-isothermal heating conditions both for pyrolysis and combustion processes. A general computer program was developed and the methods are compared with regard to their accuracy and the ease of interpretation of the kinetics of thermal decomposition. Activation energies of the samples were determined by five different methods and the results are discussed.
