The scarcity of resources for these devices introduces new challenges in terms of energy consumption, and Quality of Service (QoS) guarantees. One of the challenges is processing and transmission of large volumes of multimedia data. In this paper, the efficiency of WMSN applications where the computations are performed at the sensor nodes is considered. A real-life testbed is employed as well as simulation models in Castalia. The network using proposed architecture showed better results in terms of Quality of Service and Quality of Experience, while still preserving application requirements.
