We present two new constructions of entanglement-assisted quantum error-correcting codes using some fundamental properties of (classical) linear codes in an effective way. The main ideas include linear complementary dual codes and related concatenation constructions. Numerical examples in modest lengths show that our constructions perform better than known constructions in the literature. We also give a proof on a generalization of binary Singleton type bound on entanglement-assisted quantum error-correcting codes to arbitrary q-ary entanglement-assisted quantum error-correcting codes.

New supersymmetric solutions in N=2 matter coupled AdS(3) supergravities
Değer, Nihat Sadık; Sarıoğlu, Bahtiyar Özgür (2006-01-01)
We construct new 1/2 supersymmetric solutions in D = 3, N = 2, matter coupled, U(1) gauged supergravities and study some of their properties. We do this by employing a quite general supersymmetry breaking condition, from which we also redrive some of the already known solutions. Among the new solutions, we have an explicit nontopological soliton for the non-compact sigma model, a locally flat solution for the compact sigma model and a string-like solution for both types of sigma models. The last one is smo...

Analytical solution of the Schrodinger equation for Makarov potential with any l angular momentum
Bayrak, O.; Karakoc, M.; Boztosun, I.; Sever, Ramazan (Springer Science and Business Media LLC, 2008-11-01)
We present the analytical solution of the Schrodinger Equation for the Makarov potential within the framework of the asymptotic iteration method for any n and l quantum numbers. Energy eigenvalues and the corresponding wave functions are calculated. We also obtain the same results for the ring shaped Hartmann potential which is the special form of the non-central Makarov potential.
Studies on non-weakly regular bent functions and related structures
Pelen, Rumi Melih; Özbudak, Ferruh; Department of Mathematics (2020)
Interest in bent functions over finite fields arises both from mathematical theory and practical applications. There has been lots of literature addressing various properties of bent functions. They have a number of applications consisting of coding theory, cryptography, and sequence designs. They’re divided into four subclasses: regular bent functions that are contained within the class of weakly regular bent functions that are contained within the class of dual-bent functions. Additionally, there are non-...
A note on the importance of mass conservation in long-time stability of Navier-Stokes simulations using finite elements
Belenli, Mine Akbas; Rebholz, Leo G.; Tone, Florentina (2015-07-01)
We prove a long-time stability result for the finite element in space, linear extrapolated Crank-Nicolson in time discretization of the Navier-Stokes equations (NSE). From this result and a numerical experiment, we show the importance of discrete mass conservation in long-time simulations of the NSE. That is, we show that using elements that strongly enforce mass conservation can provide significantly more accurate solutions over long times, compared to those that enforce it weakly.
