TIMING AND NATURE OF ALTERATION AND MINERALIZATION AT THE ÖKSÜT AU-CU DEPOSIT (KAYSERI, CENTRAL ANATOLIA)
Yurdakul, Emrecan; İmer, Ali; Department of Geological Engineering (2022-6-29)
The Öksüt high-sulfidation epithermal gold-copper deposit is hosted within the late Miocene Develidağ Volcanic Complex (DVC) in south-central Anatolia. Mineralization mainly occurs in two domains, the Keltepe and Güneytepe orebodies, where steeply-dipping and pervasively supergene oxidized breccia zones exploited funnel-shaped diatreme conduits within andesite porphyry. Emplacement of these breccias was largely controlled by sub-vertical faults with dominant normal-slip components. Mineralized breccias comp...
Timing of depositional regime changes during the Late Cretaceous evolution of the Southern Pontides (Ankara, Central Anatolia, Turkey)
Sariaslan, Nisan; Altıner, Sevinç; Altıner, Demir (Elsevier BV, 2020-08-01)
During the Cretaceous, vast amounts of marine sediments were deposited along the south-facing active margin of the Eurasia. A stratigraphic section of 91 m was analyzed for planktonic foraminifera (75 samples), with the aim of establishing a refined biostratigraphy of Cenomanian-Campanian deposits in Central Anatolia. A biostratigraphic framework comprising nine biozones was established. In ascending order, the Rotalipora cushmani, Whiteinella archaeocretacea and Helvetoglobotruncana helvetica zones were de...

Timing and spectral analysis of 2S 1417-624 during its 2018 outburst
Serim, Muhammed Miraç; Ozudogru, O. C.; Donmez, C. K.; Sahiner, S.; Serim, D.; Baykal, Altan; Inam, S. C. (2022-02-01)
We investigate timing and spectral characteristics of the transient X-ray pulsar 2S 1417-624 during its 2018 outburst with NICER follow up observations. We describe the spectra with high-energy cut-off and partial covering fraction absorption (PCFA) model and present flux-dependent spectral changes of the source during the 2018 outburst. Utilizing the correlation-mode switching of the spectral model parameters, we confirm the previously reported sub-critical to critical regime transitions and we argue that ...
Time-wise variation of scouring at bridge abutments
Yanmaz, Ali Melih (Springer Science and Business Media LLC, 2007-06-01)
Accurate estimation of the maximum possible depth of scour at bridge C, abutments is important in decision-making for the safe depth of burial of footings. Besides, investigation of the geometric features of scour holes around abutments provides useful information for the degree of scour counter-measure to be implemented against excessive scouring. Experiments have been performed to investigate time-dependent characteristics of scour holes around vertical wall abutments under clear water conditions with uni...
