Synthesis of hierarchical calcium carbonate particles
Oral, Cağatay Mert; Kapusuz, Derya; Ercan, Batur (null; 2018-11-01)
Recently, synthesis of hierarchically structured porous materials gained particular interest for various industrial applications. As a biocompatible and chemically stable material, hierarchical CaCO3 structures formed by ordered aggregation and growth of nanocrystals offer significant advantages for structural and biomedical use compared to their currently-used alternatives. During solution processing, incorporating doping agents to calcium positions or altering CaCO3 supersaturation, new crystals can heter...
Synthesis of opaque and colored hollow polymer pigments
Karakaya, Ekin; MAVİŞ, BORA; Gündüz, Güngör (2017-09-01)
A parametric study was carried out to investigate the effects of process parameters on the properties of opaque and/or colored polymer pigment. The core was synthesized using methyl methacrylate (MMA), methacrylic acid (MAA), and ethylene glycol dimethacrylate, and the shell from styrene. The surfactant/water (S/W) ratio was changed between 0.56 and 1.46, and the best ratio was determined to be 0.97. The increase in the amount of MAA and the pH of the medium increases the diameter of the swollen particles. ...

Synthesis of calcium hydroxyapatite-tricalcium phosphate (HA-TCP) composite bioceramic powders and their sintering behavior
Kivrak, N; Tas, AC (1998-09-01)
Composite (biphasic) mixtures of two of the most important inorganic phases of synthetic bone applications-namely, calcium hydroxyapatite (Ca-10(PO4)(6)(OH)(2) (HA)) and tricalcium phosphate (Ca-3(PO4)(2) (TCP))-were prepared as submicrometer-sized, chemically homogeneous, and high-purity ceramic powders by using a novel, one-step chemical precipitation technique. Starting materials of calcium nitrate tetrahydrate and diammonium hydrogen phosphate salts that were dissolved in appropriate amounts in distille...
Synthesis of Phenanthroline-Functionalized Phosphazene Based Metallosupramolecular Polymers and Their Stimuli-Responsive Properties
SEÇKİN, TURGAY; Sezer, Selda; KÖYTEPE, SÜLEYMAN (2018-11-01)
A series of phenanthroline-functionalized phosphazene based metallo-supramolecular polymers (PFP-MSP) was synthesised using a two-step reaction strategy. In first step, three phenanthroline unit containing monomer (PFP-M) was prepared from 5,6-dihydroxy-1,10-phenanthroline and hexachlorocyclotriphosphazene by condensation reaction. Then, this PFP-M was reacted with different metal ion salts (Co, Ni, Cu, Fe, Eu, La, Tb, Lu ions) and resulting for the metallo-supramolecular polymers bearing phosphazene struct...
