A New Sampling Method for Massive MIMO Systems
Üçüncü, Ali Bulut; Yılmaz, Ali Özgür (2017-01-01)
Multiple-input multiple output (MIMO) systems are able to serve multiple users simultaneously and using the same frequency band. Therefore, they have a quite crucial position in the design of 5G and future communication systems. However, as the number of users to be served increases, they may fail to suppress the inter-user interference adequately. It has been shown in literature that increasing the number of receive antennas is a solution to cope with severe inter-user interference distortion. Therefore, M...
A New multi-threaded and recursive direct algorithm for parallel solution of sparse linear systems
Bölükbaşı, Ercan Selçuk; Manguoğlu, Murat; Department of Computer Engineering (2013)
Many of the science and engineering applications need to solve linear systems to model a real problem. Usually these linear systems have sparse coefficient matrices and thus require an effective solution of sparse linear systems which is usually the most time consuming operation. Circuit simulation, material science, power network analysis and computational fluid dynamics can be given as examples of these problems. With the introduction of multi-core processors, it became more important to solve sparse line...
A new algorithm and computation approach for economic dispatch with prohibited operating zones in power systems
Cetinkaya, N; Urkmez, A; Erkmen, İsmet; Yalcinoz, T (2005-01-01)
This paper presents a new algorithm and computation approach to solve the economic load dispatch (ELD) in electrical power systems. We applied a new power formula to solve the LLD problem. If production units cost Curves are represented property then ELD becomes More Correct. In this respect we assumed that production units have prohibited operating zones. Cost curves of the production units are generally accepted as piece-wise quadratic function. The power production is cheaper since we do not use the prod...

A new framework for simulation of heat treatments
Şimşir, Caner; Gür, Cemil Hakan (Inderscience Publishers, 2010-12-01)
In this study, a mathematical framework based on finite element method (FEM) capable of predicting temperature history, evolution of phases and internal stresses during thermal treatment of metals and alloys was developed. The model was integrated into the commercial FEA software MSC.Marc® by user subroutines. The accuracy of the model was verified by simulating the quenching of eccentrically drilled steel cylinders. Simulation results were justified via SEM observations and XRD residual stress measurements.
