Vortex matter of the layered superconductors in very high magnetic fields near the ab-plane was studied by using the c-axis resistivity measurements on the mesoscopic Bi2Sr2CaCu2O8+delta single crystals. While the angular dependence of resistance exhibits the sharp lock-in features in low magnetic field region, it was found that the vortex lock-in transition becomes considerably broad in high magnetic fields, showing anomalous shoulders at 0.3 degrees away from the ab-plane. The appearance of the resistance shoulder is followed with the stronger current level dependence, indicating possible different phases due to interplay of Josephson vortices and pancake vortices near ab-plane. Vortex imaging with varying temperature revealed by SHPM on Bi(2)Sr(2)CaCu(2)O8+y
Mihalache, V.; Dede, M.; Oral, Ahmet; Sandu, V. (2008-04-01)
Scanning Hall probe microscopy with an effective spatial resolution of similar to 1 mu m has been used to investigate the vortex structures in superconducting Bi2Sr2CaCu2O8+delta single crystals in the temperature range 77.3-81.3 K and zero applied field (in the presence of the earth field). The vortex images were obtained in real time mode as the temperature increased slowly for 3.36 h. At 77.3 K, the vortices were arranged in a chain structure. With the increase of the temperature, two jumps in the vortex...
Strange particle production in pp collisions at root s=0.9 and 7 TeV
Khachatryan, V.; et. al. (Springer Science and Business Media LLC, 2011-05-01)
The spectra of strange hadrons are measured in proton-proton collisions, recorded by the CMS experiment at the CERN LHC, at centre-of-mass energies of 0.9 and 7TeV. The K-S(0), A, and Xi(-) particles and their antiparticles are reconstructed from their decay topologies and the production rates are measured as functions of rapidity and transverse momentum, p(T). The results are compared to other experiments and to predictions of the PYTHIA Monte Carlo program. The p(T) distributions are found to differ subst...
Vortex states in mesoscopic single crystals Bi2Sr2CaCu2O8+delta in high magnetic fields
Mirkovic, J.; Kubo, Y.; Saitou, T.; Kakeya, I.; Yamamoto, T.; Oral, Ahmet; Kadowaki, K. (2009-08-01)
The c-axis resistivity measurements were performed in the vicinity of the ab-plane in order to investigate the interaction between Josephson vortices and pancake vortices in Bi2Sr2CaCu2O8+delta mesoscopic single crystals. It was found that the angular dependence of the c-axis resistivity drastically changes in high magnetic field regime. The vortex lock-in transition becomes considerably broad in high magnetic fields, while the angular dependence of resistance exhibits the sharp lock-in features in low magn...
Spectroscopic ellipsometry investigation of optical properties of beta-Ga2S3 single crystals
Işık, Mehmet; Hasanlı, Nızamı; Gasanova, L. (Elsevier BV, 2018-12-01)
Ga2S3 single crystals were studied by x-ray diffraction (XRD), energy dispersive spectroscopy and spectroscopic ellipsometry measurements. XRD pattern of the sample is well-matched with reported hexagonal structure of beta-Ga2S3 . The spectra of real and imaginary parts of complex dielectric function (epsilon = epsilon(1) + epsilon(2)) and refractive index (N = n + ik) were plotted in the 1.2-6.2 eV range according to results of ellipsometric data. The e 2 -spectrum and analyses of absorption coefficient po...
Temperature-tuned band gap energy and oscillator parameters of Tl2InGaSe4 semiconducting layered single crystals
Hasanlı, Nızamı (Wiley, 2009-03-01)
The optical properties of Tl2InGaSe4 layered single crystals have been studied through the transmission and reflection measurements in the wavelength range of 500-1100 nm. The analysis of room temperature absorption data revealed the presence of both optical indirect and direct transitions with band gap energies of 1.86 and 2.05 eV, respectively. Transmission measurements carried out in the temperature range of 10-300 K revealed that the rate of change of the indirect band gap with temperature is gamma = -4...
