Temel bulgular şöyledir: 11 Eylül sonrasında Avrupadaki güvenlik kültürü ciddi bir dönüşüm geçirmektedir. İspanya gibi Avrupa'nın güneyinde bulunan ve Orta Doğu'ya daha yakın olan bazı ülkeler uygarlıklararası etkileşime dayalı güvenlik kültürlerini toplumsal olarak inşaa ederlerken, Avrupa'nın kuzeyinde bulunan ve Orta Doğu'ya daha uzak olan bazı ülkeler uygarlıklar arası farklılıklara dayalı güvenlik kültürlerini toplumsal olarak inşaa etmektedirler.
