In this study, an ignition unit was designed and constructed for a new design engine with eight cylinders and sixteen pistons. The ignition coils with two high voltage outputs were used to ignite sixteen spark plugs on the system. They were driven by PIC16F628A based igniter circuits triggered with digital signals.
