Gelatin microspheres and sponges for delivery of macromolecules
Ulubayram, K; Eroglu, I; Hasırcı, Nesrin (2002-01-01)
Gelatin microspheres and gelatin sponges were prepared by coacervation and freeze drying techniques, respectively. Both systems were crosslinked with glutaraldehyde. The mean diameter of the microspheres were in the range of 40-80 mum and the mean pore size of the sponges was 130-220 mum depending on the preparation conditions. Bovine serum albumin (BSA) was added into the preparation solutions and entrapped in the microspheres and sponges. BSA addition to sponges was also achieved by addition of BSA-contai...

One-dimensional nanostructures open up new avenues in materials science since materials' properties do change with the dimension and size. Silver is a highly appealing material both in nanosize and bulk form. This is because of its high electrical conductivity. Silver nanowires are widely used in electronic and optoelectronic applications. On the other hand, although copper is almost equally conductive and cheaper than silver, copper nanowires are relatively new to these application areas. In this study, tr...
