OPTIMIZATION OF PLATE RECOGNITION SENSOR LOCATIONS: A CASE STUDY IN TURKEY
Gör, Buğra; Karakaya, Gülşah (2021-01-01)
With the advances in sensor and data transfer technologies, the usage areas of Automatic License Plate Recognition (ALPR) systems have been expanded in the public and private sectors. In public safety, ALPR systems are used to monitor and control traffic data at both individual and collective levels. To build an efficient sensor network, the locations of ALPR systems should be determined optimally. This study provides an approach to determine optimal locations of ALPR systems that maximize network coverage ...
Optimization of Ethanol Production From Microfluidized Wheat Straw by Response Surface Methodology
Turhan, Ozge; Isci, Asli; Mert, Behiç; Sakiyan, Ozge; Donmez, Sedat (2015-11-17)
In this study, wheat straw was pretreated with a microfluidizer to improve its enzymatic hydrolysis and ethanol yields. The pretreatment was performed at various pressures (500, 1000, and 1500bar) and solid loadings (1, 2, and 3%). The microfluidized biomass was then subjected to hydrolysis and simultaneous saccharification and co-fermentation (SSCF) experiments at different enzyme loadings (5, 10, and 15 FPU/g dry wheat straw) using a mutant yeast. The results indicated that the microfluidization method al...
Optimization of regeneration and agrobacterium mediated transformation of sugar beet (Beta vulgaris L.)
Baloğlu, Mehmet Cengiz; Yücel, Ayşe Meral; Department of Biology (2005)
In this study, optimization of a transformation and regeneration system via indirect and direct organogenesis in cotyledon, hypocotyl, petiole, leaf and shoot base tissues of sugar beet (Beta vulgaris L. cv. ELK 345 and 1195) was investigated. Two different germination, three different callus induction and shoot induction medium was used for indirect organogenesis of sugar beet cultivar ELK 345. Except cotyledon, other explants (hypocotyl, petiole and leaf) produced callus. However no shoot development was ...
Optimization of halogen lamp-microwave combination baking of cakes: a response surface methodology study
Sevimli, KM; Şümnü, Servet Gülüm; Şahin, Serpil (Springer Science and Business Media LLC, 2005-07-01)
The main objective of this study was to optimize processing conditions during halogen lamp-microwave combination baking of cake by using response surface methodology. The independent variables were the power of the upper halogen lamp (50, 60, and 70%), the power of the lower halogen lamp (50, 60, and 70%), the power of the microwaves (30, 40, and 50%), and the baking time (4, 5, and 6 min). Weight loss, specific volume, color, and the texture profile of the cakes were determined. The upper halogen lamp powe...
