H2 Storage at Ambient Temperature using Cu(I)-SSZ-39
İpek Torun, Bahar; Üner, Deniz (2019-06-23)
Hydrogen storage capacities of transition metal cation exchanged zeolites; i.e., Cu(I)-SSZ-39 and Cu(I)-US-Y, were tested at temperatures between 279 K and 304 K and at pressures up to 1 bar. The hydrogen capacity values were higher for Cu(I)-exchanged SSZ-39, which has smaller pore openings and a cage when compared to a large-pore zeolite: Cu(I)-US-Y. Hydrogen capacities at 1 bar per gram of zeolites were found as 83 μmol g-1 (0.02 wt. %) at 278 K and 60 μmol g-1 at 296 K on Cu(I)-SSZ-39 and 35 μmol g-1 (0...
HF and DFT studies and vibrational spectra of 1,2-bis(2-pyridyl) ethylene and its zinc (II) halide complexes
Ozhamam, Z.; Yurdakul, Murat Hayrettin; Yurdakul, S. (2007-03-11)
Ab initio restricted Hartree-Fock and density function theory calculations using BLYP, B3LYP and B3PW91 functionals were carried out to study molecular structure and vibrational spectrum of 1,2-bis(2-pyridyl)ethylene (which is abbreviated as bpe). Comparison of calculated and experimental results indicates the density functional B3LYP and BLYP/6-311G* methods are more accurate in predicting fundamental vibrational frequencies than the scaled other approaches. On the basis of calculated results, assignment o...
HYGRIC PERFORMANCE ASSESSMENT OF AUTOCLAVED AERATED CONCRETE TREATED WITH NANO DISPERSIVE CALCIUM HYDROXIDE SOLUTION
Tanideh, Gelareh; Tavukçuoğlu, Ayşe; Saltık, Emine Nevin; Department of Architecture (2022-2)
The focus of the study is to uncover whether the treatment of autoclaved aerated concrete (AAC) surface with alcohol dispersion of calcium hydroxide Ca(OH)2 nanoparticles controls its high water absorption properties to some extent or not. AAC as a lightweight and porous concrete material, is well-known for its high breathing and thermal resistivity features while it suffers from high water absorption and capillary suction in exposed conditions. Laboratory analyses were conducted on four types of AAC, used ...
H₂/H∞ mixed robust controller synthesis for a fin actuation system
Ölçer, Tuncay Uğurlu; Balkan, Raif Tuna; Platin, Bülent Emre; Department of Mechanical Engineering (2013)
In fin actuation systems, the performance of classical linear control systems is not satisfactory due to uncertainty of the system parameters and disturbances of the working medium. For this reason, sliding mode, H2 or H∞ robust controllers are widely used in literature for such systems. However, use of such controllers results in very conservative system responses. Based on this fact, in this thesis, development of a more effective robust controller is aimed via integration of the optimum properties of the...
