Investigation of structural and optical characteristics of thermally evaporated Ga2Se3 thin films
Isik, M.; Hasanlı, Nızamı (2020-09-01)
Ga2Se3 thin films were prepared by thermal evaporation technique and structural, optical characteristics of the deposited thin films were investigated in the present study. X-ray diffraction pattern of the thin film exhibited one intensive and sharp peak associated with (111) plane of cubic crystalline structure of the compound. Energy dispersive spectroscopic analyses pointed out the atomic compositional ratio of the constituent elements as consistent with chemical formula of Ga2Se3. The optical characteri...
Investigation of weight reduction of automotive body structures with the use of sandwich materials
Hara, Deniz; Özgen, Gökhan Osman (Elsevier BV; 2016-04-21)
The use of sandwich materials in automobile body panels is investigated in this study. In the first part, floor, luggage, firewall and rear wheel panels of a car body-in-white are replaced with panels made of sandwich materials in order to reduce the weight. Final sandwich material configurations are obtained through a trial and error based optimization approach where weights of the panels are minimized while keeping bending stiffness performances of the panels same. In the second part, the use of sandwich ...
Investigation of physicochemical properties of breads baked in microwave and infrared-microwave combination ovens during storage
Ozkoc, Semin Ozge; Şümnü, Servet Gülüm; Şahin, Serpil; Turabi, Elif (Springer Science and Business Media LLC, 2009-1-27)
Staling of breads baked in different ovens (microwave, infrared-microwave combination and conventional) was investigated with the help of mechanical (compression measurements), physicochemical (DSC, X-ray, FTIR) and rheological (RVA) methods. The effect of xanthan-guar gum blend addition on bread staling was also studied. Xanthan-guar gum blend at 0.5% concentration was used in bread formulation. The gums were mixed at equal concentrations to obtain the blend. After baking, the staling parameters of breads ...
Investigation of microstructure inhomogeneity in SiCp-reinforced aluminum matrix composites
Gacsi, Zoltan; Gür, Cemil Hakan; Makszimus, Andrea; Pieczonka, Tadeusz (2007-01-01)
The type, volume fraction, size, shape and arrangement of embedded particles influence the mechanical properties of the particle reinforced metal matrix composites. This presents the investigation of the SiC particle and porosity distributions in various aluminum matrix composites produced by cold- and hot-pressing. The inicrostructures were characterized by optical microscopy and stereological parameters. SiC and porosity volume fractions, and the anisotropy distribution function were measured to establish...
Investigation of warpage behavior of single crystal silicon on a silicon Adhesive ceramic integrated structure at cryogenic temperatures
Baloğlu, Can; Okutucu Özyurt, Hanife Tuba; Dursunkaya, Zafer (2016-03-17)
Understanding thermal stress and warpage behavior of heterogeneous component assemblies is vital in infrared sensor applications of silicon semiconductor material. The silicon semiconductor warpage behavior of the integrated structure composed of silicon material itself, an adhesive layer and a ceramic layer is analyzed by both FEM and experimental studies. The studies are performed between room temperature and 80 K. Thickness of each layer has an effect on the warpage. The silicon warpage of the initial ba...
