© 2022 Elsevier B.V.In this manuscript, PbWO4 single crystals having great importance for device applications were studied in terms of linear and nonlinear optical properties. For this purpose, transmission and reflection experiments were performed in the wavelength range of 350–1000 nm. X-ray diffraction analysis presented crystalline structure as scheelite type tetragonal. Spectral dependencies of absorption coefficient, skin depth, refractive index, dielectric function were reported. Optical band gap of the crystal was estimated as 3.25 eV from the Tauc and derivative spectral methods. Urbach, critical point, single oscillator and dispersion energies, static refractive index and dielectric constant were revealed for PbWO4 single crystal. First- and third-order nonlinear susceptibilities, and nonlinear refractive index were also computed for the studied crystal.

Determination of optical parameters of Ga0.75In0.25Se layered crystals
IŞIK, MEHMET; Hasanlı, Nızamı (2012-05-01)
The optical properties of the Ga0.75In0.25Se crystals have been investigated by means of transmission and reflection measurements in the wavelength range of 380-1100 nm. The analysis of the results performed at room temperature revealed the presence of optical indirect transtions with band gap energy of 1.89 eV. The variation of the band gap energy as a function of temperature was also studied in the temperature range of 10-300 K. The rate of change of band gap energy (? = 6.2 x 10(4) eV/K) and absolute zer...
Investigation of optical characteristics of PbMoO4 single crystals by spectroscopic ellipsometry
Delice, S.; Isik, M.; Hasanlı, Nızamı; Darvishov, N.H.; Bagiev, V.E. (2022-07-01)
© 2022 Elsevier GmbHIn this study, we investigated the optical properties of PbMoO4 single crystals grown by Czochralski method. Spectroscopic ellipsometry measurements were carried out in the energy region between 1.0 and 5.5 eV at room temperature. X-ray diffraction measurements were achieved for structural characterization. The resulted pattern exhibited one peak belonging to (200) plane. Spectral variations of complex dielectric function, complex refractive index, absorption coefficient and dissipation ...
Optical characterization of CuIn5S8 crystals by ellipsometry measurements
IŞIK, MEHMET; Gasanly, Nizami (2016-04-01)
Optical properties of CuIn5S8 crystals grown by Bridgman method were investigated by ellipsometry measurements. Spectral dependence of optical parameters; real and imaginary parts of the pseudodielectric function, pseudorefractive index, pseudoextinction coefficient, reflectivity and absorption coefficients were obtained from the analysis of ellipsometry experiments performed in the 1.2-6.2 eV spectral region. Analysis of spectral dependence of the absorption coefficient revealed the existence of direct ban...
Linear and nonlinear optical properties of Bi12GeO20 single crystal for optoelectronic applications
Isik, M.; Hasanlı, Nızamı (2023-01-01)
The present paper aims at presenting linear and nonlinear optical properties of Bi12GeO20 single crystals grown by Czochralski method. Transmission and reflection measurements were performed in the 400-1000 nm region. The recorded spectra were analyzed considering well-known optical models. Spectral dependencies of absorption coefficient, skin depth, refractive index, real and imaginary components of dielectric function were presented. The analyses performed on absorption coefficient showed direct bandgap a...
Investigation of photovoltaic properties of amorphous InSe thin film based Schottky devices
Yilmaz, K.; Parlak, Mehmet; Ercelebi, C. (IOP Publishing, 2007-12-01)
In this study, device behavior of amorphous InSe thin films was investigated through I-V, C-V and spectral response measurements onto SnO2/p-InSe/metal Schottky diode structures. Various metal contacts such as Ag, Au, Al, In and C were deposited onto amorphous p-InSe films by the thermal evaporation technique. The best rectifying contact was obtained in a SnO2/p-InSe/Ag Schottky structure from I-V measurements, while the Au contact had poor rectification. Other metal contacts (Al, In and C) showed almost oh...
