Bu araştırmanın amacı, bir grup üniversite öğrencisi ile gerçekleştirilen çevrimiçi sanatla grup terapinin öğrencilerin kişisel ve duygusal farkındalıkları üzerindeki etkilerini incelemektir. 6 hafta süresince uygulanan çevrimiçi sanatla grup terapi atölyeleri öncesinde tüm katılımcılara duygusal öz farkındalık, kaygı ve depresyon ön değerlendirme testleri uygulanmıştır. Ön değerlendirme için kullanılan ölçekler, geçerlilik ve güvenirliği ispatlanmış olan “Duygusal Öz Farkındalık Ölçeği-10” ve “Hastane Anksiyete ve Depresyon Ölçeği’dir. Niteliksel bulgular, katılımcıların her oturum sonrası ve tüm oturumlar sonrasında doldurdukları açık uçlu sorulardan oluşan “Sanat Terapi Oturumunu Değerlendirme Anketi” ve “Grup Sürecini Değerlendirme Anketi” yanıtlarının fenomenolojik analizinden elde edilmiştir. Yorumlayıcı fenomenolojik analiz sonucundan elde edilen içgörü kazanımı teması ile yapılan sanatla grup terapi oturumlarının, kişisel farkındalık edinimi üzerinde etkili olduğu; bunun yanı sıra duygusal farkındalık edinimi, duygusal dışavurum ve duygusal regülasyon becerisi üzerinde etkileri olduğu görülmektedir. Bunlarla birlikte katılımcıların yazılı geribildirimlerinden çevrimiçi sanatla grup terapi sürecindeki grup içi iletişimin kendilerini açmayı sağladığı, grupta yapılan paylaşımların kendilerini rahatlattığı, gruptakilerle özdeşim kurma, paylaşımlardan öğrenme ve farkındalık edinme gibi etkileri olduğu sonucuna varılmıştır.
