Image resolution upscaling in the wavelet domain using directional cycle spinning
Temizel, Alptekin (2005-10-01)
Cycle spinning, a technique mainly used for wavelet denoising, has also been shown to be successful toward image resolution upscaling in the wavelet domain. We propose a directional variant of the cycle spinning methodology. We obtain estimates of local edge orientation from a wavelet decomposition of the available low-resolution image and use this information to influence the choice of cycle spinning parameters that are employed for resolution upscaling. Our experimental results show that the proposed meth...
NUMERICAL ANALYSIS OF CONVECTIVE HEAT TRANSFER OF NANOFLUIDS FOR LAMINAR FLOW IN A CIRCULAR TUBE
Kirez, Oguz; Güvenç Yazıcıoğlu, Almıla; KAKAÇ, SADIK (2012-11-15)
In this study, a numerical analysis of heat transfer enhancement of Alumina/water nanofluid in a steady-state, single-phase, laminar flow in a circular duct is presented for the case of constant wall heat flux and constant wall temperature boundary conditions. The analysis is performed with a newly suggested model (Corcione) for effective thermal conductivity and viscosity, which show the effects of temperature and nanoparticle diameter. The results for Nusselt number and heat transfer enhancement are prese...
Exact solutions of the supersmmetric quantum mechanics
Faridfathi, Gholamreza; Sever, Ramazan; Department of Physics (2005)
The supersymmetric solutions of PT-/non-PT symmetric and Hermitian/non-Hermitian forms of quantum systems are obtained by solving the SchrÄodinger equation with the deformed Morse, Hulthœen, PÄoschl-Teller, Hyperbolic Kratzer-like, Screened Coulomb, and Exponential-Cosine Screened Coulomb (ECSC) potentials. The Hamiltonian hi- erarchy method is used to get the real energy eigenvalues and corresponding wave functions.
