A unity power factor buck type PWM rectifier for medium/high power DC motor drive applications
Bilgin, HF; Kose, KN; Zenginobuz, G; Ermiş, Muammer; Nalcaci, E; Cadirci, I; Kose, H (2000-10-04)
This paper describes the application of a single stage unity pf buck type PWM rectifier to medium and high power variable speed dc motor drives. The advantages of the developed system are low harmonic distortion in ac supply currents (comply with IEEE Std. 519 and IEC 555), nearly unity pf over a wide operating shaft speed range, nearly level armature -current and -voltage waveforms. These properties of output voltage and current quantities of the converter eliminate entirely any failure risk in current com...
A unity-power-factor buck-type PWM rectifier for medium/high-power DC motor drive applications
Bilgin, HF; Kose, KN; Zenginobuz, G; Ermiş, Muammer; Nalcaci, E; Cadirci, I; Kose, H (2002-09-01)
This paper describes the application of a single-stage unity-power-factor buck-type pulsewidth modulation (PWM) rectifier to medium- and high-power variable-speed dc motor drives. The advantages of the developed system are low harmonic distortion in ac supply currents (complying with IEEE Std. 519 and IEC 555), nearly unity power factor over a wide operating shaft speed range, and nearly level armature current and voltage waveforms. These properties of output voltage and current quantities of the converter ...
A High Power, GaN, Quarter-Wave Length Switch for X-Band Applications
Memioglu, Onur; Turan, Duygu Isinsu; Kocer, Fatih; Aydın Çivi, Hatice Özlem (2018-11-02)
This paper presents an X-band single pole double throw (SPDT) switch build on a commercial 0.25 mu m Gallium Nitride (GaN) on silicon carbide (SiC) technology. Since the switch is designed to handle at least 25 W input power, special attention was given in minimizing the insertion loss, while achieving very high isolation values. This is achieved by utilizing carefully tuned double quarter wavelength transmission line architecture. The fabricated IC is measured to have 0.8 dB of insertion loss with peak iso...
A Low-power capacitive integrated CMOS readout circuitry for high performance MEMS accelerometers
İncedere, Osman Samet; Akın, Tayfun; Eminoğlu, Selim; Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering (2013)
This thesis presents a low power capacitive integrated CMOS readout circuitry for high performance MEMS accelerometers. It proposes a linearized model of the complete closed loop accelerometer system, which makes easier of designing and analyzing the system. Designed readout circuitry offers low noise, wide dynamic range and high linearity system with very low power consumption. Designed readout circuit includes proportional integral (PI) controller circuit, which significantly decreases the proof mass defl...
