The ethnobotany of wild food plant use in the Konya Basin: a quantitative and ethnoarchaeological approach
Tsetsekos, Aylan Erkal; Doğan, Musa; Department of Archaeometry (2006)
In this ethnobotanical study, an ethnoarchaeological approach was adopted for the archaeological implications of the importance of wild food plants and their dietary uses in the Neolithic and Chalcolithic Periods in Central Anatolia by exploring the dietary uses of these plants by the modern villagers of Konya Basin. The study was based on the indigenous knowledge of the modern villagers of Konya of managing wild food plant resource in their surroundings for the dietary uses. This knowledge was explored thr...
A novel conducting polymer based on terthienyl system bearing strong electron-withdrawing substituents and its electrochromic device application
Asil Alptekin, Demet; Algı, Fatih; Önal, Ahmet Muhtar (Elsevier BV, 2008-7)
A novel conducting polymer bearing strong electron-withdrawing substituents (EWS) directly attached to the 3,4-positions of the thiophene ring was synthesized by electrochemical polymerization of diethyl 2,5-di(thiophen-2-yl)thiophene-3,4-dicarboxylate (SSS-Diester). The polymer (PSSS-Diester) was characterized by cyclic voltammetry, FT-IR and UV-vis spectroscopy. The polymer has a reversible redox process and demonstrates a stable electrochromic behavior: reddish orange in the neutral state, brown in the i...
An adaptive PHD filter for tracking with unknown sensor characteristics
Zhao, Yuxin; Yin, Feng; Gunnarsson, Fredrik; Amirijoo, Mehdi; Özkan, Emre; Gustafsson, Fredrik (2013-07-09)
The particle filter provides a general solution to the nonlinear filtering problem with arbitrarily accuracy. However, the curse of dimensionality prevents its application in cases where the state dimensionality is high. Further, estimation of stationary parameters is a known challenge in a particle filter framework. We suggest a marginalization approach for the case of unknown noise distribution parameters that avoid both aforementioned problem. First, the standard approach of augmenting the state vector w...
