A moment technique for adsorption rate on metal surfaces of supported catalysts CO adsorption on Pt-Al2O3 washcoated monolith
Dogu, G; Ozkan, G; Doğu, Timur (2001-12-15)
A moment technique was developed for the investigation of adsorption on metal surfaces of supported catalysts. The technique was applied to the evaluation of adsorption rate parameters of CO on a Pt-Al2O3 washcoated monolith. The adsorption rate constants evaluated in the temperature range 273-316 K showed significant decrease with an increase in surface coverage. Results of pulse response experiments corresponding to zero coverage gave the apparent activation energy for adsorption as 21 kJ/mol. This method...
Synthesis of macromolecular catalyst systems and applications
Oğuzkaya, Funda; Tanyeli, Cihangir; Department of Chemistry (2011)
SYNTHESIS OF MACROMOLECULAR CATALYST SYSTEMS AND APPLICATIONS Oğuzkaya, Funda PhD., Department of Chemistry Supervisor: Prof. Dr. Cihangir Tanyeli September 2011, 144 pages The thesis mainly proposed to design macromolecular catalyst systems. Such catalysts should follow the way of "Green Chemistry" with including no metallic ions and have also the ability of reusability. Hence, nitroxide chemistry was chosen as the key point. Catalysts were synthesized with surely including TEMPO as the functional part as ...
The Political analysis of the muslim brotherhood and the akp tradition : why did turkish model fail in egypt?
Arslantaş, Düzgün; Bölükbaşıoğlu, Süha; Department of International Relations (2013)
This thesis aims to analyze the transformation of the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt and the AKP tradition in Turkey with a reference to the model debate. Actually, toppling of the Mubarak regime following an uprising that started on 25th of January 2011, has changed the political map of Egypt. The Muslim Brotherhood-backed Freedom and Justice Party’s (FJP) victory in post-revolutionary period in legislative elections and Mohammed Morsi’s taking of office in presidential elections revealed that Islamists were ...
Gulen community’s schools in Central Asia
Chursinova, Valentina; Kuşçu Bonnenfant, Işık; Department of European Studies (2011)
The purpose of this thesis is to examine the activity of the Gulen community in the Central Asian republics through different perspectives with a focus on the activities in the educational realm. My main concern in this thesis is to find out what role Islam and Turkishness plays in the educational activities of the Gulen community in the region. Throughout the thesis first I focus on Fethullah Gulen as the leader of the community followed by an analysis of the community in general – its origin, framework, g...
Search for new phenomena with the monojet and missing transverse momentum signature using the ATLAS detector in s=7TeV proton–proton collisions
Aad, G.; et. al. (Elsevier BV, 2011-11)
A search for new phenomena in events featuring a high energy jet and large missing transverse momentum in proton-proton collisions at root s = 7 TeV is presented using a dataset corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 33 pb(-1) recorded with the ATLAS detector at the Large Hadron Collider. The number of observed events is consistent with the Standard Model prediction. This result is interpreted in terms of limits on a model of Large Extra Dimensions. (C) 2011 CERN.
