LIQUEFACTION OF NIGDE-ULUKISLA OIL SHALE: THE EFFECTS OF PROCESS PARAMETERS ON THE CONVERSION OF LIQUEFACTION PRODUCTS
KARTAL, ÖZLEM ESEN; Akın, Serhat; Hascakir, Berna; KARACA, HÜSEYİN (2017-01-01)
In this paper, the direct liquefaction of Turkish Nigde-Ulukisla oil shale in noncatalytic and catalytic conditions was studied. The effects of pressure, tetralin/oil shale ratio, catalyst type and concentration, reaction time and temperature and oil shale/waste paper ratio on the process were investigated. It was found that tetralin/oil shale ratio had no considerable effect on the total and liquefaction products conversions under the noncatalytic conditions. Fe2O3, MoO3, Mo(CO)(6), Cr(CO)(6) and zeolite w...
Multinucleon transfer in Ni-58+Ni-60 and Ni-60+Ni-60 in a stochastic mean-field approach
Yilmaz, B.; Ayik, S.; Yılmaz, Osman; Umar, A. S. (2018-09-07)
The multinucleon exchange mechanism in Ni-58 + Ni-60 and Ni-60 + Ni-60 collisions is analyzed in the framework of the stochastic mean-field approach. The results of calculations are compared with the time-dependent random-phase approximation (TDRPA) calculations and the recent data of Ni-58 + Ni-60. A good description of the data and a relatively good agreement with the TDRPA calculations are found.
Convolutional neural networks analysed via inverse problem theory and sparse representations
Tarhan, Cem; Akar, Gözde (Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET), 2019-04-01)
Inverse problems in imaging such as denoising, deblurring, superresolution have been addressed for many decades. In recent years, convolutional neural networks (CNNs) have been widely used for many inverse problem areas. Although their indisputable success, CNNs are not mathematically validated as to how and what they learn. In this study, the authors prove that during training, CNN elements solve for inverse problems which are optimum solutions stored as CNN neuron filters. They discuss the necessity of mu...
Multichannel Dereverberation Theorems and Robustness Issues
Hacıhabiboğlu, Hüseyin (2012-02-01)
Multichannel dereverberation amounts to the inversion of a multiple-input/multiple-output linear time-invariant system. In this paper, necessary and sufficient conditions for perfect dereverberation using stable and finite impulse response (FIR) filters are established. It is then shown that the inverse system given by the pseudoinverse of the original transfer function matrix exhibits a noise reduction property. A necessary and sufficient condition under which this pseudoinverse system is FIR is also given...
