Structural electrical and optical characterization of N- and Si-implanted GaSe single crystal grown by bridgman method
Karabulut, Orhan; Akınoğlu, Bülent Gültekin; Parlak, Mehmet; Department of Physics (2003)
Single crystals of GaSe were grown from the melt using 3-zone vertical Bridgman-Stockbarger system. In order to determine the doping effect, nitrogen and silicon ions were implanted to the grown crystals. Surface morphology and stoichiometry were examined using scanning electron microscope equipped with EDAX and structure properties were examined by x-ray diffraction technique. It was observed that the resulting ingot was stoichiometric and the structure was hexagonal. To identify the effects of ion implant...
Production of High-Performance CdZnTe Crystals Grown by THM for Radiation Detection Applications
Ünal, Mustafa; Balbaşı, Özden Başar; Karaman, Mehmet Can; Genç, Ayşe Merve; Parlak, Mehmet; Turan, Raşit (2022-01-01)
© 2022, The Minerals, Metals & Materials Society.CdZnTe crystals are the perfect candidate to be used in room temperature x-ray and gamma-ray detection systems. Production of detector-grade crystals, on the other hand, is challenging due to the unique properties of the CdZnTe. CdZnTe crystals are soft-brittle materials and have high ionicity of bonds that makes the growth process challenging. Among several growth techniques, the travelling heater method (THM) is a preferred growth method to obtain high-qual...
Study of vibrational modes in CuxAg1-xIn5S8 mixed crystals by infrared reflection measurements
Hasanlı, Nızamı (2018-04-01)
Infrared reflection spectra of CuxAg1-xIn5S8 mixed crystals, grown by Bridgman method, were studied in the wide frequency range of 50-2000 cm(-1). All four infrared-active modes were detected, which are in full agreement with the prediction of group-theoretical analysis. Real and imaginary parts of the dielectric function, refractive index and the energy losses function were evaluated from reflectivity measurements. The frequencies of TO and LO modes and oscillator strengths were also determined. The bands ...
Annealing Effect on Dark Electrical Conductivity and Photoconductivity of Ga-In-Se Thin Films
IŞIK, MEHMET; Güllü, Hasan Hüseyin (2018-05-01)
Dark-conductivity and photoconductivity properties of thermally evaporated Ga-In-Se (GIS) thin films were investigated in the temperature range of 80-430 K. All measurements were performed on as-grown and annealed GIS thin films at 300 and 400 degrees C to get information about the effect of the annealing temperature on the conductivity properties. Room temperature conductivity was obtained as 1.8 x 10(-8) Omega(-1) cm(-1) for as-grown films and increased to 3.6 x 10(-4) Omega(-1) cm(-1) for annealed films ...
Characterization of defect states in Ag0.5Cu0.5In5S8 solid solution by photoluminescence and thermally stimulated current
Hasanlı, Nızamı (2015-08-01)
Photoluminescence (PL) and thermally stimulated current (TSC) in Ag(0.5)Cu(0.5)in(5)S(8) solid solution grown by Bridgman method have been studied in the photon energy region of 1.46-1.60 eV and in the temperature range of 10-42 K (PL) and in the temperature range of 10-100 K with heating rate of 1.01 K/s (TSC). A PL band centered at 1.53 eV was observed at T = 10 K. Variations of emission band has been studied as a function of excitation laser intensity in the 1.8-183.0 mW cm(-2) range. Radiative transitio...
