Korkmaz, Kıvanç
In this MSc thesis, the refractory minerals that may be present in limonitic nickel laterite ores will be tried to be leached under the optimum conditions of high pressure and atmospheric acid leaching. The results of the different methods of leaching to be obtained will be compared in terms of the Ni and Co extractions.

Pressure leaching of Sivrihisar-Yunus Emre nickel laterites
Seçen, Berk; Topkaya, Yavuz Ali; Department of Metallurgical and Materials Engineering (2011)
The aim of this thesis study was to extract nickel and cobalt from Sivrihisar limonitic nickel laterite ore by high pressure acid leaching (HPAL) method under most economical operating parameters. Optimizing the conditions to yield a saleable quality mixed hydroxide product from the pregnant leach solution (PLS) was also investigated. To extract high amounts of nickel and cobalt from the laterite matrix; leaching duration, leaching temperature and sulfuric acid/ore ratio were studied at fixed conditions of ...
Pressure leaching of Çaldağ lateritic nickel ore
Önal, Mehmet Ali Recai; Topkaya, Yavuz Ali; Department of Metallurgical and Materials Engineering (2013)
The purpose of this study was to investigate the process optimization of combined high pressure acid leaching (HPAL) and mixed hydroxide precipitation (MHP) route for the extraction of nickel and cobalt from Çaldağ lateritic nickel ore. In order to extract nickel and cobalt values into pregnant leach solution (PLS), several process parameters of HPAL including acid load, temperature, leaching duration and particle size were investigated in comparative manner at constant solid concentration and agitation spe...
Modeling, analysis, and screening of cyclic pressure pulsing with nitrogen in hydraulically fractured wells
Artun, Emre; Khoei, Ali Aghazadeh; Köse, Kutay (Springer Science and Business Media LLC, 2016-7-19)
Cyclic pressure pulsing with nitrogen is studied for hydraulically fractured wells in depleted reservoirs. A compositional simulation model is constructed to represent the hydraulic fractures through local-grid refinement. The process is analyzed from both operational and reservoir/hydraulic-fracture perspectives. Key sensitivity parameters for the operational component are chosen as the injection rate, lengths of injection and soaking periods and the economic rate limit to shut-in the well. For the reservo...
Experimental investigation of particle filtration in compression resin transfer molding of advanced composites
Aydil Dalkıran, Tuğçe; Erdal Erdoğmuş, Merve; Department of Mechanical Engineering (2014)
With the inclusion of particle fillers in advanced continuous fiber reinforced composites, issues such as impregnation with increased viscosity of the injected resin leading to high process pressures and possible nonhomogeneous/directional composite properties due to filtering of filler particles necessitate the study of the relations between processing parameters and the resulting particle distributions. In this study, the particle-resin interaction during compression resin transfer molding (CRTM) and resi...
Hydrochloric acid pressure-oxidation of a pyrite concentrate from the Vaal Reefs East Gold Mine
Topkaya, Yavuz Ali (1999-04-01)
The extraction of refractory gold from pyrite concentrate by hydrochloric acid pressure oxidation was investigated on laboratory scale. The aim was for direct solubilization of refractory gold by chloride pressure-leaching without cyanidation.
