The study was performed at TÖMER, Gazi University, and 50 English as a foreign language learners took place in the study. To get data on the students’ perceptions, two questionnaires (before and after the online extensive reading program) were administered. Also, to see if the program helped the students develop their vocabulary, a vocabulary test including frequently used vocabulary items in the books was applied to the students before and after the program. The findings showed that before the program the perceptions of the students were positive on computer-assisted language learning, online extensive reading and vocabulary learning through online extensive reading, and after the program, the students’ perceptions changed slightly in a more positive way. Most of the students enjoyed the program and wanted to participate in such programs again. As for the participants’ incidental vocabulary development, the results of the vocabulary test showed that there was a significant difference between the mean scores of the two applications of the test, and the students gained a notable number of words incidentally thanks to the program. The results of the study demonstrated that such a design for a reading program is technically feasible and pedagogically beneficial and provides opportunities for both vocabulary gains and learner satisfaction.
