A METHOD FOR TECHNICAL ECONOMIC-ANALYSIS OF SOLAR HEATING-SYSTEMS
TASDEMIROGLU, E; ARINC, F (Elsevier BV, 1988-01-01)
The necessity for technical-economic analysis of solar energy systems is obvious when assessing their feasibility vis-á-vis conventional alternative systems. Optimum magnitudes of the installation parameters should be defined under the required economic conditions. In this study, the optimization procedure was chosen so as to maximize the total accumulated saving throughout the economic lifetime of the system. The annual solar heating fraction of the system is assessed using the f-chart method which can be ...

A methodology for detection and evaluation of lineaments from satellite imagery
Koçal, Arman; Karpuz, Celal; Department of Mining Engineering (2004)
The discontinuities play an important role both in design and development stages of many geotechnical engineering projects. Because of that considerable time and capital should be spent to determine discontinuity sets by conventional methods. This thesis present the results of the studies associated with the application of the Remote Sensing (RS) and the development of a methodology in accurately and automatically detecting the discontinuity sets. For detection of the discontinuities, automatic lineament an...
A statistical approach for performance evaluation of 386 and 486 microprocessors
Akman, I (1996-02-01)
This paper endeavors to show how multivariate statistical techniques may be used to assess the hardware performance of 386 and 486 based microcomputers. The benchmark test results collected from 34 microcomputers were analyzed in order to find the objective ''assessment criterion'' which could be used as part of the future certification process. The dominant hardware components for the price of these computers were also searched.
