This study investigates exports of chromium ores and concentrates, feldspar, copper ores and concentrates, zinc ores and concentrates, natural borates and their concentrates from Turkey. The cointegration analysis demonstrates that there exists long run relationship among the variables. The study uses Vector Error Correction (VECM) model to forecast the export amounts of aforesaid ores and concentrates based on exogenous variables, incentive certificates, fixed investment amount, total industrial turnover index, industrial production index and manufacturing purchasing managers’ index of China. It is seen that incentive certificates and industrial production index are positively related to all the endogenous variables.

EVALUATION OF LOW GRADE IRON ORE DEPOSIT IN ERZINCAN-TURKEY FOR IRON ORE PELLET CONCENTRATE PRODUCTION
SİVRİKAYA, OSMAN; Arol, Ali İhsan (2012-01-01)
In this study the separation possibility of gangue minerals from a low grade magnetite ore with 45% Fe from an iron ore deposit located near Erzincan-Turkey was investigated. The iron ore deposit consists of mainly magnetite mineral. Hematite is the second iron oxide found in the deposit. The gangue minerals contain mainly SiO2 and Al2O3 impurities. The main object of the research is to investigate the production of a concentrate suitable for iron ore pellet production. The concentrate for pellet production...
Extraction of nickel from lateritic ores
Büyükakıncı, Ergin; Topkaya, Yavuz Ali; Department of Metallurgical and Materials Engineering (2008)
The aim of this study was to extract nickel and cobalt from the lateritic nickel ores of Gördes region by hydrometallurgical methods under the optimum conditions. Limonitic and nontronitic types of Gördes lateritic nickel ores were used during experiments. Agitative and column leaching experiments at atmospheric pressure were conducted with various parameters; these were duration, temperature and initial sulfuric acid concentration of leach solution. It was shown that in agitative leaching, under the optimu...
Solvent extraction of scandium from lateritic nickel- cobalt ores using different organic reagents
Ferizoglu, Ece; Kaya, Serap; Topkaya, Yavuz Ali (2016-09-28)
Scandium is the most important and strategic metal that can be recovered as a by-product from lateritic nickel-cobalt ores. In this research, different extractants were investigated in order to extract scandium from a sulfate medium by a using a solvent extraction method. Generally, the organic extractants are classified as acidic, neutral and basic organophosphorus compounds. However, in solvent extraction of scandium, the acidic and neutral organophosphorus compounds are preferred due to their higher extr...
Electroacoustic measurements of mixed quartz and iron oxide mineral systems
Klein, B; Altun, Naci Emre; Colebrook, M; Pawlik, M (2012-07-18)
Surface behavior of the commonly found minerals in nickel laterite ores - quartz, magnetite, hematite and goethite was investigated using electroacoustic measurements. The goal was to assess the surface potentials as single minerals and in mixed systems to understand possible interactions between particles in laterite slurries. Surface potentials were evaluated according to the electroacoustic theory with the understanding that a direct relationship existed between zeta potential and electroacoustic sonic a...
Ternary nanocomposites of low density, high density and linear low density polyethylenes with the compatibilizers E-MA-GMA and E-BA-MAh
Işık Coşkunses, Fatma; Yılmazer, Ülkü; Department of Chemical Engineering (2011)
The effects of polyethylene, (PE), type, compatibilizer type and organoclay type on the morphology, rheological, thermal, and mechanical properties of ternary low density polyethylene (LDPE), high density polyethylene (HDPE), and linear low density polyethylene (LLDPE), matrix nanocomposites were investigated in this study. Ethylene – Methyl acrylate – Glycidyl methacrylate terpolymer (E-MAGMA) and Ethylene – Butyl acrylate- Maleic anhydrate terpolymer (E-BA-MAH) were used as the compatibilizers. The organo...
