A new electrochromic polymer, poly(2,3,5,8-tetra(thiophen-2-yl)quinoxaline) (PTTQ), was synthesized electrochemically and its electrochromic properties were investigated. The polymer was characterized by Cyclic Voltammetry, Fourier Transform infrared spectroscopy, LTV-Vis-NIR Spectroscopy, and colorimetry. Spectroelectrochemistry analysis demonstrated that the polymer can undergo both p- and true n-type doping processes. The polymer, (PTTQ), has three accessible color states: an oxidized transmissive, a neutral light bluish-green, and a reduced transmissive light gray. Switching ability of the polymer was evaluated by kinetic studies. The polymer revealed an excellent optical contrast of 98% in the NIR region. Outstanding optical contrast in the NIR region, high stability and fast switching times make this polymer an excellent candidate for NIR device applications. (C) 2008 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.

A thiazolothiazole containing multichromic polymer for glucose detection
Soylemez, S.; Kaya, H. Z.; Udum, Y. A.; Toppare, Levent Kamil (Department of Polymer Engineering, Scientific Society of Mechanical Engineering, 2019-10-01)
Donor-acceptor (DA) type monomers namely 2,5-di(thiophen-2-yl)thiazolo[5,4-d]thiazole (TTzTh) and 2,5-bis(3-methylthiophen-2-yl)thiazolo[5,4-d]thiazole (TTzMTh) were synthesized and their electrochemical and optoelectronic properties were investigated in detail. The spectro-electrochemical analysis showed that the alkyl chain substitution results in a shift in the onset of the pi-pi* transition towards longer wavelengths. Depending on the donor substituents, the polymers exhibited optical band gaps 1.65 and...
A functional immobilization matrix based on a conducting polymer and functionalized gold nanoparticles: Synthesis and its application as an amperometric glucose biosensor

Combination of nanoparticles and biomolecules attracted considerable attention in biosensing applications. In this study, effective surface design was investigated by modifying the electrode surface with pristine and functionalized gold nanoparticles. For this purpose, spherical gold nanoparticles were synthesized and characterized with UV-vis spectroscopy and transmission electron microscopy (TEM) analyses. Then, gold nanoparticles were modified with mercaptopropionic acid (MPA) yielding Au-S bonds (Au NPs...
Stereoregularity of fractionally crystallized poly(propylene oxide) samples by 13C-NMR spectroscopy
Alyürük, K.; Alyürük, Kemal (Wiley, 1989-4)
Several stereoregular poly(propylene oxide) (PPO) samples were synthesized employing either trimethyl aluminum hydrolyzates or Pruitt–Baggett type catalysts. Dilute isooctane solutions of these samples were fractionally crystallized by stepwise cooling from 333 K down to 273 K. The fractions which dissolve at 273 K were noncrystallizable and were further fractionated by GFC. The isolated fractions were characterized by 13C‐NMR, DSC, and viscometry techniques. Both structural (head‐to‐head and tail‐to‐tail l...
An electrochemically and optically stable electrochromic polymer film based on EDOT and 1,2,3,4-tetrahydrophenazine
ERGÜN, EMİNE GÜL CANSU; Eroglu, Deniz (Elsevier BV, 2019-12-01)
In this work, 3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene (EDOT) and 1,2,3,4-tetrahydrophenazine based donor-acceptor-donor type monomer (EBE) was synthesized, electropolymerized and the resulting polymer film (P(EBE)) was investigated in terms of its electrochemical and spectroelectrochemical properties. The polymer film showed excellent electrochemical stability upon 1000 switchings by saving almost full of its electroactivity. Moreover, 95% of the optical contrast was maintained after 500 switchings. The optical band gap...
A New Amperometric Alcohol Oxidase Biosensor Based on Conducting Polymer of (4,7-Dithien-2-yl-2, 1,3-benzothiadiazole)
Tanriverdi, Simla; Tuncagil, Sevinc; Toppare, Levent Kamil (Informa UK Limited, 2012-01-01)
Amperometric biosensors based on alcohol oxidase (AOX) immobilized on the conducting polymers of 3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene (PEDOT) and 4,7-dithien-2-yl-2,1,3-benzothiadiazole (TBTD) were constructed. Proposed biosensors were characterized using ethanol as the substrate and the responses were measured. Kinetic parameters, I-max, K-m and sensitivity were determined for the biosensors with or without TBTD. Optimization studies for TBTD thickness, PEDOT amount and pH were carried out. The biosensing capacity w...
