In this paper, we investigate the best delay LS inverse filter design problem. We propose FIR-IIR LS inverse filters to improve the LS error performance for the same complexity. Furthermore we present a new approach for the design of FIR-IIR LS inverse filters by using a special selection procedure for the IIR part. We derived the closed form LS error expressions and compared with the practical results in order to effectively show the performance improvement in this case. In general 4-5 dB improvement is achieved compared to the best delay LS inverse filter design approach.

INTERPOLATED IIR MTH-BAND FILTER DESIGN WITH ALLPASS SUBFILTERS
Tuncer, Temel Engin (1995-08-01)
In this correspondence, we propose a new allpass-based structure for the IIR Mth- and 2Mth-band filters. These filters consist of M allpass filters and an interpolation filter(sum of two allpasses). Consequently, the proposed structure is very efficient in implementation. By choosing the allpass phase appropriately, the resulting phase response of the IIR Mth-band filter becomes approximately linear. An example is designed and compared with FIR Mth-band filters.
Allpass variable fractional delay filters by pole loci interpolation
Hacıhabiboğlu, Hüseyin (2010-04-15)
A simple, accurate and efficient variable fractional delay (VFD) IIR filter is presented. The method is based on the interpolation of pole loci of maximally-flat allpass fractional-delay filters. The responses of the proposed VFD filter for different fractional delay values are simulated and the approximation errors are shown to be very small.
Particle Filtering with Propagation Delayed Measurements
Orguner, Umut (2010-03-13)
This paper investigates the problem of propagation delayed measurements in a particle filtering scenario. Based on implicit constraints specified by target dynamics and physics rules of signal propagation, authors apply the ideas that were first proposed in their previous work to the case of particle filters. Unlike the deterministic sampling based approach called propagation delayed measurement filter (PDMF) in their previous work, the new algorithm proposed here (called as PDM particle filter (PDM-PF)) ha...
Non-linear filtering based on observations from Gaussian processes
Gustafsson, Fredrik; Saha, Saikat; Orguner, Umut (2011-03-12)
We consider a class of non-linear filtering problems, where the observation model is given by a Gaussian process rather than the common non-linear function of the state and measurement noise. The new observation model can be considered as a generalization of the standard one with correlated measurement noise in both time and space. We propose a particle filter based approach with a measurement update step that requires a memory of past observations which can be truncated using a moving window to obtain a fi...
A NOVEL METHOD FOR DISCRETE COEFFICIENT FIR DIGITAL FILTER DESIGN
Çiloğlu, Tolga (1994-06-02)
A local search algorithm for discrete coefficient FIR filter design is presented. The minmax objective function is minimized by moving along the low gradient directions. A new method to forecast these directions is proposed. The algorithm is suitable to design high order filters in a short time. The results are compared to other methods both in quality and computational load
