We have performed self-consistent field calculations of the electronic structure of Si/Ge square-well superlattices within the effective-mass theory. We have computed the optical transition matrix elements involving transitions from the hole states to states in the conduction band, and we have also computed the oscillator strength matrix elements for the transitions between the states in the conduction band. Optical transitions in InSe/GaSe superlattices
Katırcıoğlu, Şenay; Allahverdi, K (1998-06-22)
We have performed self-consistent-field (SCF) calculations of the electronic structure of InSe/GaSe superlattices with square-well potential profile within the effective-mass theory. We have calculated the optical transition matrix elements involving transitions from the hole states to electron states, and we have also computed the oscillates strength matrix elements for the transitions among the electron states. Understanding the Effects of Ion-Exchange in Titanosilicate ETS-10: A Joint Theoretical and Experimental Study
Koc, Mehmet; Galioglu, Sezin; Toffoli, Daniele; Toffoli, Hande; Akata Kurç, Burcu (2014-11-27)
Density functional theory (DFT) calculations within the gradient-corrected approximation (GGA) were carried out on two models of Engelhard titanosilicate (ETS-10) with the aim to elucidate the effect of ion exchange on the structural and electronic properties of the TiOTi quantum wire. The partial and full exchange of Na+ cations with alkaline, earth-alkaline, and transition metal ions have been investigated. The theoretical results have been complemented by experimental X-ray diffraction (XRD) and Raman da...
Thermal Rearrangements of 1-Ethynyl-2-methylcyclopropane: A Computational Study
Bozkaya, Ugur; Özkan, İlker (2012-03-29)
In this research, a comprehensive theoretical investigation of the thermal rearrangements of 1-ethynyl-2-methylcyclopropane is carried out employing density functional theory (DFT), with the B3LYP functional, and high-level ab initio methods, such as the complete active space self-consistent field (CASSCF), multireference second-order Moller-Plesset perturbation theory (MRMP2), and coupled-cluster singles and doubles with perturbative triples [CCSD(T)]. In all computations Pople's polarized triple-zeta spli...
Thermal denitrogenation of 7-isopropylidene-2,3-diaza-norbornene: formation of substituted 3-methylene-(1,4)-pentadienes
Bozkaya, Ugur; Özkan, İlker (2012-01-01)
A theoretical study of the thermal denitrogenation of 7-isopropylidene-2,3-diaza-norbornene is carried out by employing density functional theory and high level ab initio methods, such as the complete active space self-consistent field, multi-reference second-order Moller-Plesset perturbation theory, and coupled-cluster singles and doubles with perturbative triples. In all computations Pople's polarized triple-zeta split valence basis set, 6-311G(d,p), is utilized. The potential energy surface for the relev...
Singularity Cancellation for Accurate MoM Analysis of Periodic Planar Structures in Layered Media
Adanir, Suleyman; Alatan, Lale (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), 2020-08-01)
One of the singularity cancellation schemes proposed in the literature is applied to calculate singular integrals arising in the method of moments (MoM) analysis of 2-D periodic planar structures in multilayered media. Discrete complex image method is utilized for the accurate approximation of Green's function which also makes possible the application of the Ewald transformation for the efficient computation of the series associated with the periodic structure. This approximation and transformation modifies...
