Cu-Catalyzed Selective Mono-N-pyridylation: Direct Access to 2-AminoDMAP/Sulfonamides as Bifunctional Organocatalysts
Isik, Murat; Tanyeli, Cihangir (2013-02-15)
Direct and selective mono-N-pyridylation of trans-(R,R)-cyclohexane-1,2-diamine is described here. Facile preparation of a novel chiral 2-aminoDMAP core catalaphore via Cu catalysis has led to the development of various sulfonamide/2-aminoDMAPs as bifunctional acid/base organocatalysts (most in two steps overall), which have been shown to very effectively promote asymmetric conjugate addition of acetylacetone to trans-beta-nitroolefins with good to excellent yields (87-93%) and enantioselectivites (up to 99%).
Manganese(III) acetate mediated oxidative coupling of phenylhdrazines with furan and thiophene
Emrullahoğlu, Mustafa; Demir, Ayhan Sıtkı; Department of Chemistry (2003)
A convenient new method for the arylation of furan and thiophene with arylhydrazine and manganese(III) acetate is described. Oxidation of arylhydrazines with Mn(III) acetate in furan or thiophene affords the corresponding 2-aryl-substituted furans and thiophenes in good yield using commercially available materials; access to 2-substituted heterobiaryls works selectively, and coupling occurs with loss of the hydrazine moiety.
Bi-presymplectic chains of co-rank 1 and related Liouville integrable systems
Blaszak, Maciej; Guerses, Metin; Zheltukhın, Kostyantyn (2009-07-17)
Bi-presymplectic chains of 1-forms of co-rank 1 are considered. The conditions under which such chains represent some Liouville integrable systems and the conditions under which there exist related bi-Hamiltonian chains of vector fields are derived. To present the construction of bi-presymplectic chains, the notion of a dual Poisson-presymplectic pair is used, and the concept of d-compatibility of Poisson bivectors and d-compatibility of presymplectic forms is introduced. It is shown that bi-presymplectic r...
BOROPHOSPHATES - A NEGLECTED CLASS OF COMPOUNDS - CRYSTAL-STRUCTURES OF M(II)[BPO5] (M(II)=CA, SR) AND BA-3[BP3O12]
KNIEP, R; GOZEL, G; EISENMANN, B; ROHR, C; ASBRAND, M; KIZILYALLI, M (Wiley, 1994-04-18)
Vertex‐sharing BO4 and PO4 tetrahedra form the framework of the title compounds. Ca[BPO5] and Sr[BPO5] crystallize in the stillwellite structural type and contain tetrahedral chain anions urn:x-wiley:05700833:media:ANIE199407491:tex2gif-stack-1[BPOurn:x-wiley:05700833:media:ANIE199407491:tex2gif-stack-2], which can be described as loop‐branched “dreier” single chains. In Ba3[BP3O12] the urn:x-wiley:05700833:media:ANIE199407491:tex2gif-stack-3tetrahedral anions form “zweifach” open “vierer” single chains. Gi...
Manganese(III) acetate based oxidation of substituted α′-position on cyclic α,β-unsaturated ketones
Tanyeli, Cihangir (2003-09-01)
Selective oxidation of the tertiary alpha'-position on various 2-cyclopentenone, 2-cyclohexenone and aromatic ketone derivatives with manganese(III) acetate is described.
