In this study, we examined the psychometric properties of the Cyberbullying Inventory (CBI) for University Students. There were 635 Turkish university students (57.48% females) in the pilot data set. The results showed that the pilot data set confirmed the proposed factor structure for CBI for University Students with some modifications. The final form of CBI for University Students was cross-validated with a second data set, composed of 1281 Turkish university students (52.54% females). Confirmatory factor analyses revealed adequate fit to the data, the internal consistency coefficients showed good internal consistencies, and evidence for convergent validity was obtained. Therefore, CBI for University Students with 11 items is a valid and reliable assessment instrument that can be used by researchers, counsellors and other mental health practitioners.

The Revised Cyber Bullying Inventory (RCBI): validity and reliability studies
Topcu, Cigdem; Erdur Baker, Özgür (2010-04-25)
The aim of this study is to revise Cyber Bullying Inventory (CBI) and to examine its basic psychometric characteristics. There were two independent samples. First sample consisting of 358 participants (178 female, 178 male, 2 unknown) aged 13-21 (M=16.58; SD=1.42) was used to test preliminary validity and reliability tests. Confirmatory analyses were conducted with the second data set which consisted of 339 participants (220 female, 117 male, 2 unknown) aged 13-21 (M=17.07; SD=1.45). RCBI appears to be a va...
Psychopathological Correlates and Psychometric Properties of the White Bear Suppression Inventory in a Turkish Sample
Altin, Mujgan; Gençöz, Tülin (Hogrefe Publishing Group, 2009-01-01)
This study examined the psychometric properties of the White Bear Suppression Inventory (WBSI) in a sample of 273 Turkish undergraduate students. The WBSI assesses people's tendency toward thought suppression. The reliability and validity analyses of the Turkish version of the scale indicated that the WBSI had adequate psychometric properties in a Turkish sample. Internal consistency, and split-half and test-retest reliability coefficients were satisfactory. Consistent with the original WBSI, factor analysi...
PSYCHOMETRIC PROPERTIES OF FRUSTRATION DISCOMFORT SCALE IN A TURKISH SAMPLE
Ozer, Bilge Uzun; Demir, Ayhan Gürbüz; Harrington, Neil (SAGE Publications, 2012-08-01)
The present study assessed the psychometric properties of the Frustration Discomfort Scale for Turkish college students. The Frustration Discomfort Scale (FDS), Procrastination Assessment Scale-Student, and Rosenberg Self-Esteem Scale were administered to a sample of 171 (98 women, 73 men) Turkish college students. The results of the confirmatory factor analysis yielded fit index values demonstrating viability of the four-dimensional solution as in the original. Findings also revealed that, as predicted, th...
Psychometric Evaluation of the College Adjustment Self-Efficacy Scale for Turkish University Students
Orucu, Muge Celik; Demir, Ayhan Gürbüz (Hogrefe Publishing Group, 2011-01-01)
The purpose of the study was to investigate the applicability of the College Adjustment Self-efficacy Scale (CASES) to a Turkish sample. The CASES (Hirose, Wada, & Watanabe, 1999) measures the degree of confidence in the basic skills necessary to complete one's college career. A total of 492 freshman students at Middle East Technical University aged 16-29 years filled in the Turkish translation of the CASES, which included 21 items. The alpha coefficient for the Turkish version of CASES was .82 and CASES co...
Psychometric properties of the brief verision of the fear of negative evaluation scale in a Turkish sample
Koydemir, Selda; Demir, Ayhan Gürbüz (SAGE Publications, 2007-06-01)
The purpose of the study was to report initial data on the psychometric properties of the Brief Fear of Negative Evaluation Scale. The scale was applied to a nonclinical sample of 250 (137 women, 113 men) Turkish undergraduate students selected randomly from Middle East Technical University. Their mean age was 20.4 yr. (SD 1.9). The factor structure of the Turkish version, its criterion validity, and internal reliability coefficients were assessed. Although maximum likelihood factor analysis initially indic...
