A new chromium(VI) reagent 3,5-dimethylpyrazolium chlorochromate, C5H8N2H[CrO3Cl] (DmpzHCC), was synthesized and used for the selective oxidation of various organic compounds under solvent-free conditions with high efficiency. This new compound has certain advantages over its companion analogues in terms of controlled acidity, amount of oxidant, lack of solvent, short reaction times, and high yields.

A bis-Lewis basic 2-aminoDMAP/prolinamide organocatalyst for application to the enantioselective synthesis of Warfarin and derivatives
IŞIK, Murat; Akkoca, H. Ufuk; Akhmedov, I. Mecidoglu; Tanyeli, Cihangir (Elsevier BV, 2016-06-01)
A new chiral sec-amine/amidine-base hybrid catalyst, 2-aminoDMAP/prolinamide, is reported, which is able to catalyze conjugate addition of 4-hydroxycoumarin and various benzylideneacetones, a reaction that directly gives anticoagulant Warfarin and its analogues, with good yields (70-87%) and enantioselectivities (58-72%).
Catalytic enantioselective addition of diethylzinc to aldehydes using aziridine based chiral ligands
BULUT, Adnan; ASLAN, Ayhan; İZGÜ, Enver Cagri; Doğan, Özdemir (Elsevier BV, 2007-05-16)
The readily available ferrocenyl substituted aziridinylmethanol 1 (FAM-1) was used as a chiral catalyst in the diethylzinc addition reaction to aromatic and aliphatic aldehydes to give secondary alcohols in high yields and up to 99% enantiomeric excess at room temperature. The catalyst can be recovered and used without losing its activity.
Chemoenzymatic synthesis of alpha(1)- and alpha-acetoxylated cyclic ketones
Tanyeli, Cihangir; Akhmedov, M (Elsevier BV, 2004-06-07)
alpha,beta-Unsaturated and saturated cyclic ketones were selectively oxidized at the alpha'- and alpha-positions using Mn(OAc)(3) and Pb(OAc)(4), respectively, resulting in high chemical yields. The resultant racemic alpha'- and alpha-acetoxylated substrates were resolved into corresponding enantiomerically enriched alpha'- and alpha-hydroxylated and acetoxylated compounds with 96-98% ee via PLE hydrolysis. The absolute configurations of alpha'-acetoxy-alpha,beta-unsaturated cyclic ketones were determined b...
trans- and cis-Ru(II) aminophosphine complexes: Syntheses, X-ray structures and catalytic activity in transfer hydrogenation of acetophenone derivatives
AYDEMİR, MURAT; BAYSAL, AKIN; Özkar, Saim; Yildirim, Leyla Tatar (Elsevier BV, 2011-02-28)
The ability of transition metal catalysts to add or remove hydrogen from organic substrates by transfer hydrogenation process is a valuable synthetic tool. For this aim, a novel Ru(II) complex with the P-N ligand [(Ph(2)P)(2)NCH(2)-C(4)H(3)S] derived from thiophene-2-methylamine was synthesized starting with the complex [Ru(eta(6)-p-cymene)(mu-Cl)Cl](2) and isolated in two isomeric forms: trans- and cis[Ru((PPh(2))(2)NCH(2)-C(4)H(3)S)(2)Cl(2)], 2 and 3, respectively. The structures of both isomers were also...
HYDROGEN CHEMISORPTION ON POTASSIUM-PROMOTED SUPPORTED RUTHENIUM CATALYSTS
Üner, Deniz; GERSTEIN, BC; KING, TS (Elsevier BV, 1994-04-01)
The interaction of hydrogen on potassium promoted catalysts prepared by both sequential and co-impregnation methods was studied by proton NMR spectroscopy. Potassium addition decreased the amounts of both hydrogen adsorbed on the metal (site blocking) and the support hydroxyl groups. No evidence for a ruthenium-mediated (through-metal) electronic interaction between potassium species and adsorbed hydrogen was found. During catalyst preparation, potassium was incorporated on the support by an exchange with t...
