This survey study reports the results of a survey which was conducted with high school Turkish EFL teachers in Turkey to find out the most commonly used Web 2.0 tools in English language teaching in high schools in Turkey and the advantages and disadvantages of using them. 100 Turkish high school teachers of English completed the survey. The survey comprised three questions. The first question allowed the participants to check off all the tools that they used in their English classes from a previously listed set. The question also allowed the teachers to add more items to the list. The second and third questions allowed them to list the advantages and disadvantages of using Web 2.0 tools in their teaching. The qualitative and quantitative data from the survey required a mixed methods design. The results showed that Kahoot, YouTube and PowerPoint were the most commonly used Web 2.0 tools in English language teaching in Turkish high schools. According to the results, the most commonly stated advantages of using Web 2.0 tools in teaching English were that learning with technology motivated students, increased student participation and encouraged student interaction. On the other hand, the most commonly stated disadvantages of the integration of Web 2.0 tools in teaching were that it was time consuming, required an internet connection and caused classroom management problems.
