A formation cell was used to study the thermodynamic properties associated with the formation of pure liquid and dissolved in binary melts. The data were used to infer the enthalpy and entropy of mixing. These measurements are shown to be consistent with the known phase diagram.

PARTIAL MOLAR PROPERTIES OF MGCL2 IN MGCL2-KCL-CACL2 MELTS
ZHU, J; Karakaya, İshak; THOMPSON, WT (The Electrochemical Society, 1988-01-01)
To further the understanding of electrolytes of value in industrial magnesium electrolysis, the reversible emf for the formation of in fused salts containing and was studied. The data made possible the calculation of thermodynamic solution properties which were used with other data to construct features of the ternary phase diagram. The multiple discrete complex anion (MDCA) model was tested against the thermodynamic findings from the present study. Reasonable agreement was obtained between the experimen...
Syntheses and Electrochemical Characterization of Low Oxidation Potential Nitrogen Analogs of Pedot as Electrochromic Materials
Hacioglu, Serife O.; Yigit, Deniz; Ermis, Emel; Soylemez, Saniye; GÜLLÜ, Mustafa; Toppare, Levent Kamil (The Electrochemical Society, 2016-01-01)
In this study, the electropolymerization of ethyl andmethyl substituted asymmetrical nitrogen analogs of 3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene (OEt and OMe) were synthesized, characterized and their electrochemical properties were investigated. Both polymers (POEt and POMe) were synthesized electrochemically and characterized using spectroelectrochemical technique to determine optical changes of the resulting polymer films. Electrochemical studies demonstrated that these polymers exhibited a significantly low oxidatio...
Electrochemical Behavior of Hydrazine Borane in Methanol Solution
Ozhava, Derya; Önal, Ahmet Muhtar; Özkar, Saim (The Electrochemical Society, 2014-01-01)
Electrochemical behavior of hydrazine borane (HB) was investigated on gold electrode in 0.5 M LiClO4 solution in methanol using cyclic voltammetry, electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) and chronoamperometry. Two irreversible peaks at 164 and 530 mV are attributed to direct electro-oxidation of HB on gold electrode in methanol. Both EIS results and CV data at different scan rates indicate a diffusion controlled electron transfer reaction. Furthermore, the Tafel slope (b = 0.191 V) and charge transfer...
The exciton transition energies in symmetric double GaAs/AlxGa1-xAs quantum wells
Okan, SE; Aktas, S; Akbas, H; Tomak, Mehmet (Wiley, 1999-04-01)
The exciton transition energies between valence and conduction subbands of symmetric double quantum wells are studied. To study the effect of geometry coupled wells of rectangular, graded and parabolic shapes are considered. A special emphasis is given to the study of crossover between the symmetric light-hole (e1-11) and the antisymmetric heavy-hole (e2-h2) transitions.
Syntheses and Characterization of Benzotriazole, Thienopyrroledione, and Benzodithiophene Containing Conjugated Random Terpolymers for Organic Solar Cells
Goksu, Kardelen; Hizalan, Gonul; Udum, Yasemin Arslan; Hacioglu, Serife Ozdemir; Cevher, Sevki Can; Akrema, Akrema; Toppare, Levent Kamil; Çırpan, Ali (The Electrochemical Society, 2019-11-20)
Two random terpolymers bearing alkoxy-benzodithiophene as an electron-rich unit and N-octylthieno[3,4,c]pyrrole-4,6-dione (TPD) as an electron deficient group with thiophene and selenophene pi bridges, were synthesized and characterized. Electrochemical, optical properties of the polymers were analyzed to get an insight on the effect of different p bridges. Photovoltaic performances of the polymers were investigated with a conventional device architecture. PBTS, PBTSe based polymer solar cells (PSCs) exhibi...
