The effects induced by the initial b-quark longitudinal polarization in the rare b-->s gamma g decay in the standard (SM) and two Higgs doublet (2HDM) models are investigated. Using the structure functions formalism we calculate different asymmetries in b-->s gamma g decay in terms of the magnetic dipole type form factors, which describe the b-->s gamma and b-->sg transitions. It is shown that the general expressions for the structure functions are model independent; the model dependent information is contained in the corresponding magnetic dipole form factors. It is obtained that the inclusive asymmetry, corresponding to the detection of the photon only, is sensitive to the QCD corrections and to the choice of the FCNC model.

SENSITIVITY OF THE STOKES PARAMETERS IN THE DECAY B-]S-GAMMA-G TO THE MODEL OF FCNC
Alıyev, Tahmasıb; TURAN, G (Springer Science and Business Media LLC, 1995-01-01)
We calculated the Stokes parameters which characterize the polarization properties of the photons produced in the decay b-->s gamma g in the framework of the Standard Model (SM) and Two Higgs Doublet Model (2HDM). It is shown that the Stokes parameter xi 3, which defines the linear photon polarization with a polarization vector in the decay plane, is very sensitive to the parameters of the above-mentioned models. The predicted values of xi(3) are large enough (in some cases it achieves the maximum possible ...
Leading logarithmic QCD corrections to the B-s ->gamma gamma decays in the two-Higgs doublet model
Alıyev, Tahmasıb; Iltan, EO (1998-03-30)
We calculate the leading logarithmic QCD corrections to the decay B-s --> gamma gamma in the two-Higgs doublet model (2HDM) including O-7-type long-distance effects and estimate the restrictions of the 2HDM parameters, tan beta and m(H), using the experimental data of B --> X-s gamma decay provided by the CLEO Collaboration. A lower bound for the charged Higgs mass m(H) as a function of the renormalization scale mu is given for 2HDM model II. We further present the dependencies of the branching ratio Br(B-s...
SPIN EFFECTS IN THE RADIATIVE B-]S-GAMMA-G DECAY OF A POLARIZED B-QUARK
Alıyev, Tahmasıb; REKALO, MP (1995-09-01)
Using the general formalism of structure functions (SF's), the polarization effects in the rare radiative decay of polarized b quarks, b --> s gamma g, are analyzed. Parametrizing the matrix element for the decay b --> s gamma g in terms of weak magnetic moments, which describe the transitions b --> s gamma and b --> sg, we find exact expressions for the SF's which are valid for a wide class of models for the FCNC's. We demonstrated that the different asymmetries in this decay are very sensitive to the mode...
Rare B->K*l(+)l(-) decay, two Higgs doublet model, and light cone QCD sum rules
Alıyev, Tahmasıb; Savcı, Mustafa; Özpineci, Altuğ (1997-10-02)
The decay width, forward-backward asymmetry and lepton longitudinal and transversal polarization for the exclusive B --> K* l(+)l(-) decay in a two Higgs doublet model are computed. It is shown that all these quantities are very effective tools for establishing new physics. (C) 1997 Elsevier Science B.V.
Application of the hot white dwarf atmosphere models to the X-ray data of classical novae
Balman, Şölen (1998-09-10)
The analyses of X-ray emission from classical novae after outburst have shown that the soft X-ray emission below 1 keV, which is thought to originate from the photosphere of the white dwarf, is inconsistent with the simple black body model of emission. Thus, the ROSAT Position Sensitive Proportional Counter (PSPC) data (0.1-2.4 keV) of the classical novae V1974 Cygni 1992 and some others have been reanalyzed in order to understand the spectral development of novae in the X-ray wavelengths during the outburs...
