Using the general formalism of structure functions (SF's), the polarization effects in the rare radiative decay of polarized b quarks, b --> s gamma g, are analyzed. Parametrizing the matrix element for the decay b --> s gamma g in terms of weak magnetic moments, which describe the transitions b --> s gamma and b --> sg, we find exact expressions for the SF's which are valid for a wide class of models for the FCNC's. We demonstrated that the different asymmetries in this decay are very sensitive to the model of FCNC's. The numerical calculations (with and without QCD corrections) show that asymmetry in b --> gamma(sg) is large in absolute value and its energy dependence is very sensitive to the choice of model. We also analyze the relative importance of different contributions to the asymmetry in b --> gamma(sg).

PHOTON POLARIZATION EFFECTS IN B-]S-GAMMA-G DECAY
Alıyev, Tahmasıb; REKALO, MP (Springer Science and Business Media LLC, 1995-05-01)
We analyze the polarization properties of photons which are produced in the unpolarized b-quark decay, b --> syg. Using the structure function formalism we carry out a general analysis of the polarization characteristics of y in terms of the standard Stokes parameters. The expressions for five independent structure functions are constructed in terms of the weak magnetic transition form factors of the vertices b -->, sy and b --> sg. Numerical calculations of the Stokes parameters and various differential di...
SENSITIVITY OF THE ASYMMETRY OF THE POLARIZED B-QUARK RADIATIVE B-]S-GAMMA-G DECAY TO THE MODEL FCNC
Alıyev, Tahmasıb; PAK, NK; REKALO, MP (1995-01-26)
The effects induced by the initial b-quark longitudinal polarization in the rare b-->s gamma g decay in the standard (SM) and two Higgs doublet (2HDM) models are investigated. Using the structure functions formalism we calculate different asymmetries in b-->s gamma g decay in terms of the magnetic dipole type form factors, which describe the b-->s gamma and b-->sg transitions. It is shown that the general expressions for the structure functions are model independent; the model dependent information is conta...
The exclusive B -> (K, K*)l(+)l(-) decays in a CP softly broken two Higgs doublet model
Erkol, G; Turan, Gürsevil (2002-07-22)
We study the differential branching ratio, forward-backward asymmetry, CP-violating asymmetry, CP-violating asymmetry in the forward-backward asymmetry and polarization asymmetries in the B --> Kl(+)l(-) and B --> K*l(+)l(-) decays in the context of a CP softly broken two Higgs doublet model. We analyze the dependencies of these observables on the model parameters by paying a special attention to the effects of neutral Higgs boson (NHB) exchanges and possible CP-violating effects. We find that NHB effects a...
The b -> sgg decay in the two and three Higgs doublet models with CP violating effects
Goksu, A; Iltan, EO; Solmaz, L (2001-04-20)
We study the decay width and CP asymmetry of the inclusive process b --> sgg (g denotes gluon) in the three and two Higgs doublet models with complex Yukawa couplings. We analyze the dependencies of the differential decay width and CP asymmetry to the s-quark energy E-s and CP violating parameter theta. We observe that there exist a considerable enhancement in the decay width and CP asymmetry is at the order of 10(-2). Further, it is possible to predict the sign of C-7(eff) using the CP asymmetry.
Leading logarithmic QCD corrections to the B-s->gamma gamma decay rate including long-distance effects through B-s->phi gamma->gamma gamma
Hiller, G; Iltan, EO (1997-09-18)
We present leading logarithmic QCD corrections to the decay B-s --> gamma gamma in the Standard Model. Further, the form factor F-1(0) of B-s --> phi gamma is calculated in the framework of QCD sum rules and found to be in agreement with the result existing in the literature. Using Vector Meson Dominance model, the amplitude for B-s --> phi gamma --> gamma gamma is calculated as an estimate of the O-7-type contributions to the long-distance effects in the B-s --> gamma gamma decay. The resulting branching r...
