In this study, we compare three different orientation agreement strategies of multi-agent/particle systems under different conditions. We investigate the behavior of multi-agent systems utilizing these strategies with different combinations of the following properties: (i) the multi-agent systems may be synchronous or asynchronous, (ii) they may travel in bounded or unbounded regions and (iii) the mobile agents may have turning speed restrictions. The agents/particles are assumed to move with constant speed and update their orientation of motion based on three different strategies. Based on these strategies, simulations are performed and the effects on the clustering performance are investigated.

Evaluation of environmental parameters in logistic regression models for landslide susceptibility mapping
Süzen, Mehmet Lütfi (Informa UK Limited, 2012-01-01)
The aim of this study was to determine how well the landslide susceptibility parameters, obtained by data-dependent statistical models, matched with the parameters used in the literature. In order to achieve this goal, 20 different environmental parameters were mapped in a well-studied landslide-prone area, the Asarsuyu catchment in northwest Turkey. A total of 4400 seed cells were generated from 47 different landslides and merged with different attributes of 20 different environmental causative variables i...
A comparison of orthogonal cutting data from experiments with three different finite element models
Bil, H; Kilic, SE; Tekkaya, AE (Elsevier BV, 2004-07-01)
The aim of this study is to compare various simulation models of orthogonal cutting process with each other as well as with the results of various experiments. Commercial implicit finite element codes MSC.Marc, Deform2D and the explicit code Thirdwave AdvantEdge have been used. In simulations, a rigid tool is advanced incrementally into the deformable workpiece which is remeshed whenever needed. In simulations with MSC.Marc and Thirdwave AdvantEdge, there is no separation criterion defined since chip format...
Comparison of different yield criteria in various deep drawn cups
Cogun, Ferah; Darendeliler, Haluk (Springer Science and Business Media LLC, 2017-03-01)
The aim of the study is to evaluate the performance of three recent yield criteria namely; BBC2008-8p, Yld2003-8p, Hu2003 through the simulation of the hemispherical, cylindrical and square cup drawing processes by comparing the results with the ones obtained by using the von Mises criterion for the isotropic, kinematic and combined hardening and the Hill'48 criterion. For this purpose, two different sheet materials, SS304 stainless steel and DKP6112 steel, and various punch travels were used in the simulat...
Comparison of spatial learning in the partially baited radial-arm maze task between commonly used rat strains: Wistar, Spargue-Dawley, Long-Evans, and outcrossed Wistar/Sprague-Dawley
Gokcek-Sarac, Cigdem; Wesierska, Malgorzata; Jakubowska-Dogru, Ewa (2015-03-01)
Strain-related differences in animals' cognitive ability affect the outcomes of experiments and may be responsible for discrepant results obtained by different research groups. Therefore, behavioral phenotyping of laboratory animals belonging to different strains is important. The aim of the present study was to compare the variation in allothetic visuospatial learning in most commonly used laboratory rat strains: inbred Wistar (W) and Sprague-Dawley (SD), outcrossed Wistar/Sprague-Dawley (W/SD), and outbre...
Assessment of Factors Negatively Affecting the Communication Process in Turkish State Universities
Gizir, Sıddıka; Şimşek, Hasan; Department of Educational Sciences (2005)
The purpose of this study is twofold: to assess the relationships among factors negatively affecting communication process in Turkish state universities and to test a hypothetical model drawn from a qualitative case study done by Gizir (1999). The sample of the study consisted of 480 faculty members employed in seven public universities representing seven regions of Turkey. As an instrument, أInventory of Communication Analysis in Academic Contextؤ, which was developed by the researcher by using the qualita...
