Analysis of roof fall hazards and risk assessment for Zonguldak coal basin underground mines
Düzgün, Hafize Şebnem (Elsevier BV, 2005-10-17)
The roof fall hazards are frequent problems of underground coal mines, which are generally unpredictable due to the associated uncertainties. These uncertainties, which arise from geological and stress conditions and mine environment, make the control of roof fall hazards difficult in underground coal mines. The most efficient method for coping with uncertainties in roof fall hazards is the use of risk assessment techniques. In this study, a risk assessment and management methodology is proposed for roof fa...
Analysis of mine accidents and financial consequences to gli mines
Özkan, Gökay; Güyagüler, Tevfik; Department of Mining Engineering (2007)
The expenditures resulting from work accidents is increasing every year. Among the other work accidents, mine accidents result important loss of time, money and lives. From the point of view of mine accidents, studies about cost of mine accidents need some contributions. In this thesis, cost of mine accidents to worker, employer, and total economy of country will be analysed in the light of data from Ministry of Labour, Social Security and Social Insurance Institution, and Türkiye Coal Enterprises. Analysis of modeling effort and impact of different levels of detail in building information models
Leite, Fernanda; Akçamete Güngör, Aslı; Akinci, Burcu; Atasoy Özcan, Güzide; Kiziltas, Semiha (2011-08-01)
The main objectives of this paper are to evaluate the modeling effort associated with generating building information modeling (BIM) at different levels of detail (LoD) and the impact of LoD in a project in supporting mechanical, electrical and plumbing (MEP) design coordination. Results show an increase in total modeling time ranging from doubling the modeling effort to eleven folding it, when going from one LoD to another. When comparing modeling time per object, rates ranged from 0.2 (decreased modeling ...
