In this short review, excerpts from the literature of azo-bridged triazoles (mainly 1,2,4-triazoles), some of their derivatives (chloromethyl, dinitro and trinitro pyrazole substituted ones, etc.) and some of their salts, have been presented focusing on the most recent investigations. These classes of compounds, known as high nitrogen compounds, are generally high energy density materials. Therefore, if available some of their ballistic properties were included. Enhancing electrochemical and electrochromic performances of carbazole comprising monomer via copolymerization with 3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene (EDOT)
Kalay, Isil; Yigit, Deniz; GÜLLÜ, Mustafa; DEPCİ, TOLGA; Toppare, Levent Kamil; Hacioglu, Serife O. (Elsevier BV, 2020-09-01)
In this study, two novel electrochromic copolymers (CoP1.3 and CoP1.5) were synthesized via electrochemical methods and characterized. The comonomers used in the synthesis were 3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene (EDOT) and a carbazole comprising monomer; 9-(2-(4-(Phenyldiazenyl) phenoxy) ethyl)-3,6-di(thiophen-2-yl)-9H-carbazole (M1). Carbazole containing monomer (M1) and EDOT were combined with two different comonomer feed ratios, 1: 3 and 1: 5 respectively in order to investigate the effect of increasing EDOT amo...
Coexistence of parabolic and linear band crossings and electron-doped spin-gapless properties in rhombohedral type YbBO3
Yang, Tie; Cheng, Zhenxiang; Surucu, Gokhan; Wang, Xiaotian (Elsevier BV, 2020-05-15)
Very recently, a novel Dirac half-metal has been investigated in the perovskite-type lanthanum manganite (LaMnO3) by Ma et al. [1] and the half metallicity with 100% spin polarization is discovered. More remarkably, multiple linear Dirac crossings are observed around the Fermi energy level in the spin-up direction. Inspired by this work, another perovskite-type material YbBO3, which has been synthesized before, is investigated by first principles calculation. Results confirm the presence of half metallicity...
Conducting copolymers of random and block copolymers of electroactive and liquid crystalline monomers with pyrrole and thiophene
Camurlu, Pinar; Toppare, Levent Kamil; Yilmaz, Faruk; Yagci, Yusuf; Galli, Giancarlo (Informa UK Limited, 2007-03-01)
Block and random copolymers having 3-methyl thienylmethacrylate and 6-(4-cyanobiphenyl-4'-oxy) hexyl acrylate moieties were utilized as precursor polymers in this study. Electrochemical copolymerizations were performed in the presence of thiophene or pyrrole in acetonitrile-tetrabutylammonium tetrafluoroborate (TBAFB) at constant potential. The characterizations were performed by cyclic voltammetry (CV), fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), thermal gravime...
Multichromic benzimidazole-containing polymers: Comparison of donor and acceptor unit effects
Nurioglu, Ayda Goycek; Akpinar, Hava; Sendur, Merve; Toppare, Levent Kamil (2012-09-01)
This study reports a comparative study on electrochromic properties of two donoracceptordonor (DAD)-type polymers namely poly(2-heptyl-4,7-di(thiophen-2-yl)-1H-benzo [d]imidazole) (BImTh) and poly(4,7-bis(2,3-dihydrothieno[3,4-b] [1,4]dioxin-5-yl)-2-heptyl-1H-benzo[d]imidazole) (BImEd). DAD-type monomers were polymerized electrochemically on indium tin oxide-coated glass slides to determine the optical properties of the polymers. Electrochemical rho-doping experiments were performed to determine the band ga...
Quantitative structure-activity relationship study of some 7-substituted theophyllines
Türker, Burhan Lemi; Akgun, H; Balkan, A (1998-01-01)
Some novel 7-substituted theophylline derivatives have been investigated for quantitative structure-activity relationship (QSAR). For this purpose, their bronchodilatory activities (in vitro), which were examined by the inhibition of acetylcholine induced contraction in tracheae isolated from guinea pigs, have been correlated with various quantum chemical and physicochemical parameters.
