1989-9
Hortaçsu, Nuran
The purpose of the study was to investigate targets of communication during adolescence. Turkish high school students between the ages of 12 and 18 were asked to rank order a maximum of five people with whom (a) they enjoyed talking with the most, (b) they were most intimate with, and (c) they talked with the most frequently. It was found that the same sex friend and the mother were the preferred targets of communication for both sexes. Also, with increasing age, more friends and less family were cited by both sexes, but the trend was more prevalent for males.
