A new orthorhombic phase of Na2LaOPO4 (sodium lanthanum oxyphosphate), and novel Na2NdOPO4 (sodium neodymium oxyphosphate), Na2SmOPO4 (sodium samarium oxyphosphate) were synthesized by solid state reactions of Na2CO3, NH4H2PO4, and Ln(2)O(3) (Ln = La, Nd, and Sm). The unit cell dimensions were calculated using their X-ray powder diffraction data, which were a 13.60(1), b = 12.71(1), and c = 6.96(1) angstrom, a = 13.466(5), b 12.547(6), and c = 6.932(5) angstrom, and a = 13.54(1), b = 12.577(8), and c = 7.047(5) angstrom, respectively, and the probable space group was Pmm2. Using the same procedure orthorhombic Na2DyOPO4 (sodium dysprosium oxyphosphate), Na2HoOPO4 (sodium holmium oxyphosphate), Na2ErOPO4 (sodium erbium oxyphosphate), and Na2YbOPO4 (sodium ytterbium oxyphosphate) were also prepared for the first time in this work. The IR data of the compounds agreed with the values given in the literature. The Raman data and SEM micrographs of the synthesized compounds are given for the first time in this report.

SYNTHESIS OF A NEW ELECTROCHROMIC POLYMER BASED ON TETRAPHENYLETHYLENE CORED TETRAKIS CARBAZOLE COMPLEX AND ITS ELECTROCHROMIC DEVICE APPLICATION
Carbas, Buket Bezgin; Odabas, Serhat; Turksoy, Figen; Tanyeli, Cihangir (2016-03-01)
Poly-1,1,2,2-tetrakis(4-9H-carbazol-9-yl)phenyl)ethene P(TCP) was successfully synthesized by electrochemical oxidation of corresponding monomer, namely, 1,1,2,2-tetrakis(4-9H-carbazol-9-yl)phenyl)ethene (TCP) using dichloromethane as the solvent and tetrabutylammonium hexafluorophosphate (TBAPF(6)) as supporting electrolyte. Spectroelectrochemical properties of P(TCP) were investigated in situ recording the electronic absorption spectra of the polymer film coated on indium-tin oxide (ITO) at various potent...
Chemical synthesis of pure and Gd-doped CaZrO3 powders
Gonenli, IE; Tas, AC (1999-01-01)
Aqueous solutions of calcium chloride (CaCl2.2H(2)O) and zirconium oxychloride (ZrOCl2.8H(2)O), in appropriate volumetric amounts, were used as the starting chemicals in the synthesis of phase-pure CaZrO3 powders. Rare earth element dopings (up to 25 at%) were performed by using the aqueous chloride solutions of gadolinium (Gd). Formation of CaZrO3 powders were achieved by two different chemical synthesis techniques: (i) self-propagating combustion synthesis, and (ii) precipitation in the presence of EDTA b...
Studies on interaction of electromagnetic waves with barium hexaferrite ceramics
Gürkan, Nurdan; Timuçin, Muharrem; Department of Metallurgical and Materials Engineering (2008)
M-type barium hexaferrite powders doped with titanium and/or cobalt have been synthesized according to the stochiometric formulations BaFe(12 (4/3)x)TixO19, BaFe12-xCoxO19 , BaFe12-2xTixCoxO19 (x varying from 0 to 1.5 with an increment of 0.5) by the mixed oxide approach. The powders were used to manufacture small ceramic tiles by sintering each composition at 1250 °C with soaking times ranging from 1 to 16 hours. XRD work revealed formation of the magnetoplumbite crystal structure in all ceramics. The var...
Synthesis and characterization of Na2GdOPO4 and Na2LaOPO4
Gonen, ZS; Kizilyalli, M; Pamuk, HO (2000-05-24)
A new orthorhombic phase of previously reported orthorhombic Na2GdOPO4, sodium gadolinium oxyphosphate, was synthesized by solid state reactions starting with four different sets of chemicals at 1000 degrees C. The unit cell dimensions were calculated using its powder X-ray diffraction data and were found to be a = 14.709(6), b = 10.661(4) and c = 13.081(6) Angstrom and the space group is probably Pmm2 (No: 25). its monoclinic form was also obtained by further heating the orthorhombic phase at 1000 degrees ...
Investigation of Fluorine Atom Effect on Benzothiadiazole Acceptor Unit in Donor Acceptor Donor Systems
Çakal, Deniz; Akdağ, Akın; Önal, Ahmet Muhtar (The Electrochemical Society, 2019-07-12)
Synthesis of two new pi-conjugated monomers containing fluorine substituted benzothiadiazoles as acceptor units and 3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene (EDOT) as donor unit was accomplished by facilitating Stille cross-coupling reactions (4,7-bis(2,3-dihydrothieno[3,4-b][1,4] dioxin-5-yl)-5-fluorobenzo[c][1,2,5] thiadiazole (E2BTD-F) and 4,7-bis(2,3-dihydrothieno [3,4-b][1,4] dioxin-5-yl)-5,6-difluorobenzo[c][1,2,5] thiadiazole (E2BTD-2F)). NMR and HRMS spectra of newly synthesized compounds are in agreement with th...
