A new procedure for implementing the multiport network model for analyzing two-dimensional microwave circuits is proposed. The proposal procedure leads to more efficient evaluation of impedance matrices than the procedure known earlier. The computational efforts in the two procedures are compared.

Fully Integrated Autonomous Interface With Maximum Power Point Tracking for Energy Harvesting TEGs With High Power Capacity
Tabrizi, Hamed Osouli; Jayaweera, Herath M. P. C.; Muhtaroglu, Ali (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), 2020-05-01)
In this article, a novel fully autonomous and integrated power management interface circuit is introduced for energy harvesting using thermoelectric generators (TEGs) to supply power to Internet of Thing nodes. The circuit consists of a self-starting dc & x2013;dc converter based on a dual-phase charge pump with LC-tank oscillator, a digital MPPT unit, and a 1-V LDO regulator. The novel maximum power point tracking (MPPT) algorithm avoids open-circuit state, and accommodates varying input power and ultra-lo...
Implementation of the Equivalence Principle Algorithm for Potential Integral Equations
Farshkaran, Ali; Ergül, Özgür Salih (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), 2019-05-01)
A novel implementation of the equivalence principle algorithm (EPA) employing potential integral equations (PIEs) is presented. EPA is generalized to be compatible with PIEs that are used to formulate inner problems inside equivalence surfaces. Based on the stability of PIEs, the resulting EPA-PIE implementation is suitable for low-frequency problems involving dense discretizations with respect to wavelength. Along with the formulation and a clear demonstration of the EPA-PIE mechanism, high accuracy, stabi...
Methodology for performance analysis of randomly-spread CDMA systems over multipath fading channels via crosscorrelation matrix non-asymptotic average eigenvalue densities
Ertug, O; Baykal, Buyurman; Unal, BS (Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET), 2003-08-07)
A new methodology for closed-form theoretical performance analysis of randomly-spread CDMA systems over multipath fading channels with multiuser receivers is presented. The basis of the analysis is the representation of the random signal to interference ratios at finite system parameters in terms of the eigenvalues of crosscorrelation matrices for which the non-asymptotic average densities are found or known, The methodology presented complements the asymptotic Ruining theory used in similar previous work o...
Development of mems technology based microwave and millimeter-wave components
Çetintepe, Çağrı; Demir, Şimşek; Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering (2010)
This thesis presents development of microwave lumped elements for a specific surface-micromachining based technology, a self-contained mechanical characterization of fixed-fixed type beams and realization of a shunt, capacitive-contact RF MEMS switch for millimeter-wave applications. Interdigital capacitor, planar spiral inductor and microstrip patch lumped elements developed in this thesis are tailored for a surface-micromachining technology incorporating a single metallization layer, which allows an easy ...
A Self-Adapting Synchronized-Switch Interface Circuit for Piezoelectric Energy Harvesters
Chamanian, Salar; Muhtaroglu, Ali; Külah, Haluk (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), 2020-01-01)
This paper presents a self-adapting synchronized-switch harvesting (SA-SSH) interface circuit to extract energy from vibration-based piezoelectric energy harvesters (PEHs). The implemented circuit utilizes a novel switching technique to recycle optimum amount of harvested charge on piezoelectric capacitance to strengthen the damping force, and simultaneously achieve load-independent energy extraction with a single inductor. Charge recycling is realized by adjusting extraction time, and optimized through a m...
