A wireless implantable multichannel digital neural recording system for a micromachined sieve electrode
Akın, Tayfun; Bradley, R.M. (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), 1998)
This paper reports the development of an implantable, fully integrated, multichannel peripheral neural recording system, which is powered and controlled using an RF telemetry link, The system allows recording of +/-500 mu V neural signals from axons regenerated through a micromachined silicon sieve electrode, These signals are amplified using on-chip 100 Hz to 3.1 kHz bandlimited amplifiers, multiplexed, and digitized with a low-power (<2 mW), moderate speed (8 mu s/b) current-mode 8-b analog-to-digital con...
A vibration-based electromagnetic energy harvester system with highly efficient interface electronics
Rahimi, Arian; Zorlu, Özge; Muhtaroǧlu, Ali; Külah, Haluk (2011-09-01)
This paper presents a vibration-based electromagnetic (EM) energy harvester system utilizing novel and highly efficient interface electronics. The energy harvesting module up-converts the environmental low frequency vibrations for increased AC power output. The interface circuit employs a boot-strap technique to reduce the threshold voltage of the rectifiers further increasing the power conversion efficiency of the overall system. The complete system, composed of an energy harvester module, and a compact 0....
A Reconfigurable Microfluidic Transmitarray Unit Cell
Erdil, Emre; Topalli, Kagan; Zorlu, Ozge; Toral, Taylan; YILDIRIM, ENDER; KÜLAH, HALUK; Aydın Çivi, Hatice Özlem (2013-04-12)
This paper presents a novel microfluidics based approach to develop a reconfigurable circularly polarized transmitarray unit cell. The unit cell comprises double layer nested split ring slots formed as microfluidic channels that can be filled by fluids. Split regions in the slots are realized by injecting liquid metal into the channels. Beam steering is obtained by implementing rotational phase shifting via manipulating the liquid metal in the slots. X-band unit cell prototypes are fabricated on glass subst...
A CMOS visible image sensor array using current mirroring integration readout circuitry
Akbay, Selim Sermet; Bircan, A.; Akın, Tayfun (null; 2000-08-30)
This paper reports the development of a CMOS visible sensor array using a high performance readout circuit called Current Mirroring Integration (CMI). The sensor element is a photodiode implemented using n-well and p+ -active layers available in any CMOS process. The current generated by optical excitation is mirrored and integrated in an off-pixel capacitor using the CMI readout circuit, which provides high injection efficiency, low input impedance, almost-zero and stable detector bias, and a high dynamic ...
