Organizations frequently use product based organizational performance models to measure the effects of information system (IS) on their organizations. This paper introduces a complementary process based approach that is founded on measuring business process quality attributes. These quality attributes are defined on the basis of ISO/IEC 9126 Software Product Quality Model. The new process quality attributes are applied in an experiment and results are discussed in the paper.

Using software quality characteristics to measure business process quality
Guceglioglu, AS; Demirörs, Onur (2005-01-01)

An approach for generating natural language specifications by utilizing business process models
Coşkunçay, Ahmet; Arifoğlu, Ali; Yılal, Elif; Department of Information Systems (2010)
Business process modeling is utilized by organizations for defining and reengineering their business processes. On the other hand, software requirements analysis activities are performed for determining the system boundaries, specifying software requirements using system requirements and resolving conflicts between requirements. From this point of view, these two activities are considered in different disciplines. An organization requiring its business processes to be defined and supported with information ...
A balanced scorecard model for the performance measurement of enterprise resource planning imlementation
Arık, Ayşe Gül; Onay, Lamia Zeynep; Department of Business Administration (2006)
In this study, the applicability of the Balanced Scorecard Framework, developed by Robert S. Kaplan and David P. Norton in 1992 for measuring performance at the organizational level or the business unit level, to performance measurement during the implementation phase of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems is investigated. A model based on the Balanced Scorecard Framework is presented with sample indicators for each of the four perspectives -Financial Perspective, Customer Perspective, Internal Busin...
An Automated defect detection approach for cosmic functional size measurement
Yılmaz, Gökçen; Demirörs, Onur; Department of Information Systems (2012)
Software size measurement provides a basis for software project management and plays an important role for its activities such as project management estimations, process benchmarking, and quality control. As size can be measured with functional size measurement (FSM) methods in the early phases of the software projects, functionality is one of the most frequently used metric. On the other hand, FSMs are being criticized by being subjective. The main aim of this thesis is increasing the accuracy of the measu...
A Comparison of Process Ontology Discovery from Organizational Guidelines in Two Different Languages
Gurbuz, Ozge; Demirörs, Onur (2017-09-01)
Process ontologies contain organization's process elements which are related to the business activities, in a structured format. Once organizations establish process ontologies, searching process information as well as discovery, modeling and automation become more efficient. Process ontologies are frequently developed from organizational resources such as guidelines, regulations and procedures by interpreting the document, discovering the process information and building the ontology. The studies depict th...
