Yükseköğretim kurumları kendi niteliklerini yansıtan özel bir atmosfere sahiptir. Bu atmosfer, örgüt iklimi kavramı ile nitelendirilebilirken iklimin açık ya da kapalı olması yükseköğrenim bileşenleri arasındaki etkileşim ve güveni belirlemektedir. Açık iklime sahip olan yükseköğretim kurumlarında yüksek düzeyde etkileşim ve güven hâkimken kapalı iklime sahip olan kurumlarda etkileşim ve güven düşük düzeydedir. Yükseköğretimin önemli bir parçası olan lisansüstü eğitimde araştırma ve geliştirme etkinlikleri yoğun olarak gerçekleşmektedir. Fakat Türkiye’de lisansüstü eğitimde örgüt iklimini araştıran bir çalışma ile karşılaşılmamıştır. Dolayısıyla lisansüstü eğitimde örgüt ikliminin araştırılması; araştırma, uygulama ve kuram boyutlarında büyük öneme sahiptir. Bu çalışma, lisansüstü eğitim düzeyinde örgüt iklimini ölçmeye yönelik bir ölçek geliştirmeyi amaçlamaktadır. Bu çalışma genel tarama modelinde yürütülmüştür. Çalışmanın evrenini araştırma üniversitelerinde lisansüstü eğitim gören öğrenciler oluşturmaktadır. Örneklem, bu evrenden iki grup halinde rastlantısal olarak seçilmiştir. İlk gruptaki 301 öğrenciye beş boyutta oluşturulan 35 maddeli ve beşli Likert tipi ölçek uygulanmıştır. Öğrencilerden toplanan veri açımlayıcı faktör analizine tabi tutulmuştur. Bu analiz sonucunda ölçekte güncellemeler olmuş ve altı boyuttaki 28 maddeli ve beşli Likert tipi ölçek İkinci gruptaki 653 farklı lisansüstü öğrenciye uygulanmıştır. Veriler doğrulayıcı faktör analizi ile incelenmiştir. Sonuçlara göre ölçek; akademik iklim, sosyal iklim, yönetimsel iklim, bölüm iklimi, öğretim üyesi ile ilişkili iklim ve danışman ile ilişkili iklim olmak üzere altı boyut ortaya çıkarmıştır. Ayrıca ölçeğin Türkiye bağlamında güvenilir ve geçerli olduğu ispatlanmıştır.
